Should i file this issue on github? I have set updates to daily, and at night. I find that my phone tends not to get updates. I do "update now" in the morning on days when I might care (usually data from 2 weeks ago is ok :-), and typically get an update. The screen is not updated right so I have to go back and renter to see. Typically the "last map udpate" is the previous evening around 1830 (2230Z). So it seems there are updates generated daily, and I'm not sure of the latency from live db to it being available. Definitely I cannot edit in the evening and have the bits on my phone the next day (without making my own maps). But editing during the day, or two evenings before, is reliable. I have not seen the extra downloads you report. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. osm live update frequency
I really like osmand and like to have osm updates a few days after i added them. Thats why i booked osm live. I can select hourly, daily and weekly updates. But even with manual update i often get only updates every 2-5 days. Can someone explain me the current update frequency? When i click "manual update" osmand downloads a package, even if this is the same i already had. I think my "daily update" download fetches some duplicates, too. Is this a known bug? Should i file this issue on github? Thanks for your great software. Holger -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. Re: Speed limits
Thank you for the voice-app. For standard maps already I know and they often are the problem: they contain too much information thus becoming unreadable on a small screen, perhaps with the light that fades colors. I am looking for how to make a map that does what you need. Another way to record speed limits is to use either Mapillary [1] or OpenStreetCam [2] to record the street view while driving and then use the images captured to add mapping details. This is not limited to speed limits and the publicly shared images will allow other mappers to add details you may not care about. > On Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 3:43:14 AM UTC-7, Raffaele wrote: > Hi. > I would like to help maps with adding speed limits, but I'm finding a lot of > difficulties.Let me list them all, I hope that some of you can help me (or > shows me the way). > I state that I believe that I must use smartphone; I cannot do in house. What > I need? > 1. Re: Speed limits
1. You can see what roads have speed limits using one of the maps provided by ITO. See http://product.itoworld.com/map/124?lon=-122.03736&lat=37.37416&zoom=13 2. You can use OsmTracker to record speed limits while you are driving. Two ways on that: Press the voice record button and speak the speed limit while you pass the sign. Or setup a custom button set with all the speed limits you are likely to encounter and then simply tap the correct button as you pass the sign. The latter is what I do. Re: Speed limits
I open OSM notes for things like this so that I can later compare against aerial photography to match up the signposts (since I'm in a sunny climate and they often cast a distinctive shadow on the imagery). Speed limits
Hi. I would like to help maps with adding speed limits, but I'm finding a lot of difficulties.Let me list them all, I hope that some of you can help me (or shows me the way). I state that I believe that I must use smartphone; I cannot do in house. What I need? 1. I need to be able to configure a map to show me only streets with limits and a second map showing me only streets without limits (or a map showing both but with only two colors). Can I do it with Osmand? 2. I need marking on map signposts (speed limits), just when I find them. I will not on foot, but in the car and often there is no way I stopping my car: serves a custom app.Can I do it with Osmand? With these two I detect and I get notes on the limits. So I can do what is necessary when I will be at home. Thanks for your attention, expect answers 1 and 2.
