Re: Show Ref of motorway-exit by navigation

Thanks Xavier,
I'll try that. I've already contacted Osmand support and they are aware of
this long standing problem. I'm just frustrated that they haven't done
anything about it yet.

It would be very helpful to find the correct exit!

Is the a Option?

Otherwise this is a WISH!

Can anyone tell me if any progress is being made with this issue? I have
OsmAnd version 3.5.3 and the problem with motorway exits is still there.
...
The information is on the maps so you would think it shouldn't be too
difficult to have it included in the instructions. The developers
have done a fantastic job with this navigation app but yet they don't
seem to be able to solve this simple problem.

Have you reported the issue to the developers via the OsmAnd Github
issues tracker?

https://github.com/osmandapp/Osmand/issues

Reporting the issue here on this list is unlikely to cause the issue to
be noticed, as this list is users helping users. Occasionally a
developer drops by, but generally they do not monitor this list. And
as we are not developers, we can't make any fixes due to your report.

Reporting the issue via the github tracker above is the proper way to
put the issue in front of the developers, and the best way to likely
see a fix occur in a future release.

When I open OsmAnd and browse the map I can see the junction numbers but as
soon as a route is calculated the junction numbers disappear. If I go into
route details junction numbers are there, but they are not included either
in the voice instructions or on the screen. The voice instruction is very
misleading e.g. the instruction for exiting M6 is "keep left on M6"
It is not practical to go through the menus to find route details while
driving.
The information is on the maps so you would think it shouldn't be too
difficult to have it included in the instructions.
The developers have done a fantastic job with this navigation app but yet

https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/compare/highway=motorway_junction/junction:ref
junction:ref is gaining traction as it is a more precise method.

I would need to check taginfo again, however, I'm fairly certain there has
been a significant shift to junction:ref on the way rather than the
motorway junction.

Hi!

for other countries your descriiption may be correct - but in motorhighways the
use of the ref-tag in nodes at the beginning of junctions are official an a
very helpful instrument for the orientation and way description.

So i hope the developer reads this and usw this info for routing informations.

I would like to see this based on junction:ref=* as a disambiguation, as
ref=* on a highway=motorway_junction node is not always clear, in the
common North American urban case of forking ramps with unique exit numbers
(urban areas of Washington State do this a lot) or exits in nonstandard
locations (such as left exits in a right-hand drive country, or the less
common situation of a ramp departing from a lane that isn't leftmost or
rightmost while all other lanes go through; Oregon and Texas do this quite
a bit).

Along those same lines, destination:street=* would be a handy announcement
as well. So situations like being told to get off at
http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/15029475 are a little more clear. A good
number of exits in the surrounding area are posted as Downtown or Downtown
Tulsa as the destination, so the announcement to "Turn slightly right
towards Downtown" can be a bit ambiguous. Something like, "In 300 meters,
turn slightly right onto junction 4C towards 7th Street, Downtown" would be
unambiguously clear.

Show Ref of motorway-exit by navigation

2017-04-09 Thread 'jan99' via Osmand
I drive througt Madrid (Spain) by OSMAND but the ref information of motorway
exits will not show! The data are in Osm Delfine!

It would be very helpful to find the correct exit!

Is the a Option?

Otherwise this is a WISH!
