[otrs] Email option in Queue view

Hi, the email option to send "empty" email to a ticket creator is now blanked 
out or not available in my otrs. This has been working and I do not believe I 
changed anything. 

How do I get this email option back to respond to ticket queries? 

This is in the ticket view at right under Contact Customer the phone option is 
there, email has dropped out.

In running the Cron.sh as my user jromano and as root I get the Check the $HOME 
(/etc/passwd) of the OTRS user. It must be the root dir of your OTRS system 

Maybe copy /etc/passwd to opt/otrs?

There is a script that lets you install the necessary cron jobs. I think it is 
Cron.sh in the bin directory. 


I ran that script (after modifying the time intervals I wanted the jobs to 
repeat in) and it did the installation fine.

[otrs] how do I get emails into OTRS where is check mail button

How is email checked in OTRS? I do not see a GET MAIL or CHECK MAIL button

OTRS by itself cannot auto-check for emails. The PostMasterPOP3.pl script
does the checking and it must be set up in the cron to do this

[otrs] FQDN settings after the fact

Hi, 
I foolishly set up OTRS before editing etc/hosts correctly. OTRS has read the 
server IP so now I can only get to OTRS using 
http://xx.xxx.xx.xx/otrs/customer.pl

How do I fix this? I have tried to add lines to Config.pm but it dont take.

[otrs] cant get emails to go into otrs

I have read the documentation and set up my mail server and the pop 3 in otrs. 
I just can not get emails into OTRS. 

Is there a mail server that OTRS uses on the OTRS server that I can check to 
see if running? 

Can someone suggest checkpoints I can go over to see where I went wrong?

Where is the config item to change the company name in customer and faq.pl? 

and please explain that "do not edit Default.pm" which file should be edited?

company name only edited by changing an image or is there a config line where I

[otrs] Can otrs capture an incoming email and create a queue item?

I am a newby but learn fast. the email section is confusing .how do I set up an 
the tool to capture emails? meaning our customers send an email to [EMAIL 
PROTECTED]   and the email causes a record in OTRS? 

I control the company mailserver.

I have reinstalled and still get this error. 
I have installed on Ubuntu Gutsy server and went thru the installer.pl. I am 
then told to login using [EMAIL PROTECTED]  as url. When I click on the given 
url I get an error. that says [EMAIL PROTECTED]  password no. 

i do not get a login screen this error is caused by clicking on the url in the 
last page of the installer.pl form. Please advise if you can. JR
