There are two options for the kernel side. The first is the module
that comes with the upstream kernel. The second is the module that
is provided by openvswitch project. I _guess_ you tried to install
openvswitch's module but it is still using the kernel's module?
It's not everyday I heard someone complaining that it works even though
it shouldn't. :-)
