If you're having problems with an app (e.g. it won't activate, or
doesn't work properly, or especially if there is some remainder from a
previous installation), it is always worth a try to cleanly remove the
app and reinstalling it from scratch:

To manually remove an app:

 1. As always before possibly dangerous changes, backup your database
and files
 2. Go to the database administration tool of your choice, e.g.
phpmyadmin for mysql
 3. In the table oc_appconfig, find all entries having the name of the
app as appid (e.g. "roundcube" or "gallery")
 4. Remove those entries
 5. Find tables created by the extension (e.g. "oc_roundcube" for
roundcube app), and drop them
 6. In the apps directory, search for the directory with the name of
the app
 7. Delete that directory

To (re)install an app:

 1. If it's an app which is included in the default owncloud
installation, go to the "Apps" configuration section as
administrative user; the app will have an entry there, enabling
the app will download the files of the app to your installation
(so the "apps" directory has to be writable by php for this method
to work).
 2. If it's a custom app, or you want to install the latest version:
Read the INSTALL instructions of the app (usually, extract it to
the "apps" subfolder of owncloud, and then go to the "Apps"
configuration section as administrative user and enable it

My Question is,

I'm developing 'internal messages' (3rd party app) app for owncloud
and now I want to re-install it in my computer. for that I deleted all
entries in the oc_appconfig table which having the name 'internal
messages' and then I dropped the internal messages table from the db.
Then I deleted the 'internal messages' app folder from the 'apps'
folder. Then I copied new 'internal messages' folder again.
Now, I logged as admin and when I click on the 'Apps' (under
settings), I get a 'Server Error' message.

This is the error message.
"The website encountered an error while retrieving
http://localhost/owncloud/settings/apps.php?installed. It may be down
for maintenance or configured incorrectly."

(I improved some features in this app and they were working perfectly)
Can some one please help me to solve this? Are there more things to do?
Thanks.

[Owncloud] Microsoft SQL-Server Tester needed ....

2013-02-14 Thread Thomas Müller
Hi,

we need people using Microsoft SQL-Server to test our brand new
mssql support as specified here:
https://github.com/owncloud/core/pull/1706

Thanks a lot,

Tom

PS:
To all FOSS people out there: I know you don't need MSSQL support - neither do
I.
But there is some business out there requiring it.
In general the code is as far isolated as *currently* possible - the impact on
installations
not using this connectivity is almost irrelevant.

No, but it will probably need a lot of work, since csync loads its plugins
dynamically. Also, building a static version of Qt is a bit of an endeavor,
depending on the operating system. What's the use case?

Oh, what happened with an empty group filter? Could you file a bug

After the upgrade of my OC4.5.6 installation, the LDAP users did not
appear and I couldn't login with them.
When I delete the "objectClass=group" string now, nothing changes. The
users are still valid. So maybe this wasn't a bug, but the system just
needed a bit time?
If I find something reproducible, I will file a bug report.

Might be cache related. Saving settings clears the cache (as well as
waiting the amount of seconds given in Cache TTL).

It could be worth to automatically clear the cache on upgrade.

In php you could try \OCP\Config::getSystemValue('theme')

[Owncloud] ownCloud alpha 1 Installation Issue.

2013-02-14 Thread Patrick Heller
Hi All,

I tried to install the own cloud Alpha Version on my QNAP.

Get an Error that my Web Server is not properly set it up.

"Your web server is not yet properly setup to allow files
synchronization because the WebDAV interface seems to be broken.

Please double check the installation guides
 ."

If I look in the guides I can't figure out where the problem is.

Could anybody help?

INFO: Owncloud 4.5.6 works fine on the same server.

Currently ownCloud stores the config folder inside the application base
folder. So I'd expect it to looks for the configphp file inside that physical
location, but I might be wrong here. You'd have to create a switch inside that
config file to change its behaviour depending on how it was called. Sounds
ugly to me. Instead it might be worth to examine how the config folder/file is
located and included. Maybe you can create some means that directs towards the
correct version depending on request attributes.
Apaches mod_env or mod_env_if come to thought to modify the processes
environment acordingly.

Not sure though...

Not really currently.

I would recommend to use independent directories with other config, apps and

[Owncloud] Overriding CSS/JS/Templates of core apps in custom theme

2013-02-14 Thread Stefan Nagtegaal
I have some questions regarding theming some of the own cloud pages:
- How could one override the template-files for the core-applications, like for
example "apps/files/templates/*.php" in a custom theme?
- How could one override the login.php template? Login.php only contains the
login-form, not the whole actual page.

Thanks in advance!
