I picked blogspot for some reason a few years ago after a quick look around
many (too many!) choices. I think it seemed popular and has lots of
templates and a pleasant UI. However ... the html formatting of blogspot is
absurdly amateurish. Most formatting is done using  tags and you have
to fight it to maintain any manual formatting you add. There is no
convenient way for folks like us to format code samples and I have to paste
a special  in to format code -- *GK*
