Re: [ozmidwifery] UK Midwifery list

2004-02-26 Thread Debbie Slater
Andrea and all

Yes - it is moderated, but it is moderated in a very sensible way, and -
dare I say it - I do sometimes prefer a moderated list where feelings can
sometimes run high on emotive issues and moderation enables ruffled feathers
to be calmed and so on.

I love the uk mid list (just as I do this). The uk list I think is
particularly useful for antipodean midwives etc., as it gives a useful
perspective, and gives a chance to share international best practice (both
ways).

Yes it does have non-midwives (myself included), but they too give useful
perspectives.

There is also a student uk mid list as well I think.

The UK Midwifery list is a moderated list and you membership will have to
be "approved". You may find that you are removed without notice as well,
as happened to my Office Manager in our UK office. It has a lot of students
and pregnant women contributing.

The ozmidwifery list is not moderated (one of the very few) and we welcome
everyone. We've also never bumped anyone off, you are all well behaved and
valued contributers

Andrea
