I read somewhere that fetal mambranes can be 
repaired with a mixture of maternal platelets and other bits. If I find the

Since you asked and I happen to know someone (paed sureon) who has tried it on sheep because he is not yet prepared to try it on a human because he is not convinced that it is reliable enough to take the risk. He says that is the problem. You have to suture it with the uterine wall and hope that you get enough of a seal but that itself leads to problems.  The risk of labour/ placental seperation/ infection and whatever complications make it too risky to do before the foetus can survive outside so  he is not yet prepared to do it.  The ideal case to try will be a baby who cannot survive without the surgery and mostly he feels they can get far enough that surgery after birth is a preferable option
