Re: [ozmidwifery] Midwifery/birthing services Gold Coast

2003-06-04 Thread Amanda Gear

Hi Carolyn,

The Gold Coast hosptial does births - but I'm not sure of
satisfaction / interventions.

The 'best' service I hear about is Selangor Private Hospital -
a little north where Lyn Staff is the Maternity Unit Manager. They are reknown for innovative birthing practices, (midwifery care
models in partnership with woman-friendly medical officers) and they respect
women.

There is also aprivate hospital on the Gold Coast
?Alamanda Private Hospital - I think it is a traditional private hospital and am
unsure if they have a maternity section.

I hope this is helpful. Cheers, Amanda

information about birthing services/choices in the Gold Coast Area for a woman
who has had 3 previous C/S and wanting a VBAC.

Alamanda does have maternity but you might want to
hunt up some of the statistics before making a choice to birth
there!

Just need to locate her card. Chris is her name.
She does homebirths etc. May be able to help. If you email off the list, I will
have a hunt for her card.

Contact Claire Brassard on 5546-7383. Claire is an excellent homebirth
midwife and I am fairly sure she would take on someone with three previous
caesareans. I don't have it on hand. For birth support in hospital she may want
to contact Dierdre Bowman on 3388 8960.

Cheers,

Cas
