Sorry Paul, I was asking whether you guys are excited by enhancements to the
product/pricing for 2010 which will make building internet facing sites more
feasible than it is with MOSS. In other words, is SharePoint 2010 more like a
proper CMS tool than MOSS was?

I'd get SP2 on the environment first as its quickly running out of a supported
lifecycle.

Is the file being uploaded though the web or SPD?

Also check out the file name for illegal characters
(http://www.wssdemo.com/Pages/characters.aspx)

Also, what is the extension of the file?

Also check the length of the url.

Cheers,

Daniel

I'd get SP2 on the environment first as its quickly running out of a
 supported lifecycle.

Is the file being uploaded though the web or SPD?

Also check out the file name for illegal characters (
 http://www.wssdemo.com/Pages/characters.aspx)

Also, what is the extension of the file?

Also check the length of the url.

 Cheers,

 Daniel

As my customer say, this production server is MOSS and updated by SP1

 Is anybody can help?

Darren,

Are you stating that MOSS 2007 isn't a 'proper' CMS tool?

What's not proper about it? Is it the fact that you are trying to build and run
a Internet CMS on a product, which at its core, is a multipurpose collaborative
document management platform? :)

The architecture of SharePoint 2010 internet sites are similar to MOSS 2007
internet sites (use of pages libraries, publishing page layouts, field controls
etc.), the main difference being you have all the SharePoint 2010 platform
enhancements available now. The main benefits over MOSS 2007 are things like,
improved support for standards compliance, cleaner html markup, optimised JS
CSS, baked in AJAX and Silverlight, supported use of folders in pages
libraries, search improvements and much more.

All the enhancements in the base platform should make it a hell of a lot easier
to produce a better quality internet site on SharePoint 2010 compared to MOSS
2007.

Sezai.

Sorry Paul, I was asking whether you guys are excited by enhancements to the
product/pricing for 2010 which will make building internet facing sites more
feasible than it is with MOSS. In other words, is SharePoint 2010 more like a
proper CMS tool than MOSS was?

Sure SP2010 is W3C AA, Less tables, More DIV's and all the wizz bangs (which

But the main decide, like Paul is licensing.
