[2010] Deploy/Retract WebApp scoped solution error
Hi all, I'm continuing to see the following error during deploy/retract for WebApp scoped solutions. I am deploying to All content Web applications'. SharePoint - 80 : Error: The web.config is invalid on this IIS Web Site It seems that this site is treated as a Content web application. Is this normal because I can't find anything on the Net. Cheers, Paul ___ ozmoss mailing list ozmoss@ozmoss.com http://prdlxvm0001.codify.net/mailman/listinfo/ozmoss
RE: [2010] Deploy/Retract WebApp scoped solution error
OK. Better question. Can it be deleted? This app was apparently created automatically when running the config wizard. RE: [2010] Deploy/Retract WebApp scoped solution error
What happens when you hit the site in a browser? Do you get an ASP.NET error? I'd probably take this one literally, and crack open the web.config and make sure there's no missing end tags, or that there's no typo's. Check the event log on the server as well, you should get a more detailed callstack from ASP.NET about why it can't parse the web config. RE: SPS2010 image maps
That link is certainly a good work around, but I was kind of hoping there would be a way to do it directly within sharepoint, the way you used to. RE: [2010] Deploy/Retract WebApp scoped solution error
Hi Matthew, taking your advice to the letter I investigated further and discovered that there is no IIS site by that name on the server indicated. It only exists on the server hosting Central Administration. So why would SharePoint think there is?? Clearly the web.config file is more than just invalid - it's non-existent! :) From: ozmoss-boun...@ozmoss.com [mailto:ozmoss-boun...@ozmoss.com] On Behalf Of Paul Noone Sent: Thursday, 17 November 2011 12:57 PM To: ozMOSS Subject: RE: [2010] Deploy/Retract WebApp scoped solution error Nothing amiss in the config file.
