SRPM URL: http://ankursinha.fedorapeople.org/o-palm/o-palm-4.0.0-1.fc15.src.rpm

Description:
The most useful PALM features for such applications are:

- The graphical user interface, making the set-up of a coupled
application very simple, even with many coupled models.
- The independent interfaces, allowing the use of existing models
with very few changes, no matter what the other coupled entities are.
- The management of parallel communications, making the coupling
of parallel models almost automatic.
- The dynamic coupling capabilities, allowing more flexible
coupling strategies.
- The explicit time reference for the exchanged fields, allowing
the coupling of iterative models with different time steps.
- The predefined algebra toolbox, allowing field manipulations,
conversions and interpolations on the fly.
- The debugging, performances analysis and run time monitoring
tools, simplifying the set-up, the tuning and the control of
coupled applications.

This is an attempt to revive an orphan package. I started from the old abcMIDI
spec and reworked it a little bit to match latest upstream releases.

This is my first package submission, and I will be happy to give some info
about my motivations and background.

Spec URL: http://www.oleastre.be/fedora/abcMIDI.spec
SRPM URL: http://www.oleastre.be/fedora/abcMIDI-20110610-1.fc15.src.rpm
Description:
The abcMIDI package contains four programs: abc2midi to convert ABC
music notation to MIDI, midi2abc to convert MIDI files to (a first
approximation to) the corresponding ABC, abc2abc to reformat and/or
transpose ABC files, and yaps to typeset ABC files as PostScript.

For a description of the ABC syntax, please see the ABC user guide
which is a part of the abcm2ps.

Ok, you are right. Never used this before, I always use "install -p" or "cp

More comments:

1. Remove the --vendor option from desktop-file-install: according to the
guidelines, it shouldn't be used: "For new packages, do not apply a vendor tag
to desktop files."

2. You might want to fix the description text: "comic" should be "comics".

3. You should start updating the %changelog section every time you make changes
and post the new spec & SRPM here so that reviewers and commenters can keep
track of the changes you've made. (You also need to bump the Release number
every time you do so.)

Very nice to see that you based this package on the new MinGW packaging
guidelines (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:MinGW_Future) !

Some small comments:
Please start the .spec file with these set of lines:
%global __strip %{mingw_strip}
%global __objdump %{mingw_objdump}
%define __debug_install_post %{mingw_debug_install_post}

And add a line with %{?mingw_debug_package} right before the start of the first
%package tag. This is needed to automatically extract debug information

I noticed you used the %{description} tag in some places. Last time I tried,
this didn't give the expected results, so you may need to manually add a real
description instead of this macro.

I think we are not necessary to talk about the issue of this library here:

1. The guide line says 'A package should not include or build against a local
copy of a library that *exists* on a system.' Since RtMidi doesn't exist in
Fedora, we can consider it just part of this very work.

2. We should not choose a shared library name for RtMidi upstream, who doesn't
intend to make it a shared library.

I will ask RtMidi upstream for this issue later.

Closing as submitter has left, even though package is approved.

Note for anyone else wanting to pick this up: fontlint shows that Rubbing Font
has a number of problems that cause it to not work well in Inkscape or
