That's right - these are both false positives, now that you've explained the
the multi-arch transition. So these can be safely ignored.

Aha - I had not noticed that at first. Thank you for the clarification.

dbus-sharp-0.7.0-2 is APPROVED. Thanks for packaging this! :)

Although the current packaging guidelines already refer to the new directory
scheme, it is not yet implemented. Even the mono core packages still expect the
old-style arch-independent paths. We are currently in the process of updating
rawhide, but until this has finished, we still have to use the old paths.

For reference:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Chkr/MonoMultiarchChanges
https://fedorahosted.org/fpc/ticket/91

> dbus-sharp.x86_64: E: no-binary
> dbus-sharp.x86_64: W: only-non-binary-in-usr-lib

These two warnings are "normal" for mono packages (even if we would solely use
/usr/lib), they are false positives caused by the fact that mono assemblies are
not treated as binaries.

> dbus-sharp-devel.x86_64: W: no-documentation

I have not found an API documentation in the package, so I would rather leave
it as it is than to package the README again just for keeping rpmlint quiet.
;-)

That's only necessary if it is not done automatically via make. In this case it
happens in the "make install" step.

To verify you can look into the binary package:

rpm -qlp /tmp/dbus-sharp-0.7.0-1.fc17.i686.rpm
/usr/lib/mono/dbus-sharp-1.0
/usr/lib/mono/dbus-sharp-1.0/dbus-sharp.dll
/usr/lib/mono/gac/dbus-sharp
/usr/lib/mono/gac/dbus-sharp/1.0.0.0__5675b0c3093115b5
/usr/lib/mono/gac/dbus-sharp/1.0.0.0__5675b0c3093115b5/dbus-sharp.dll
/usr/lib/mono/gac/dbus-sharp/1.0.0.0__5675b0c3093115b5/dbus-sharp.dll.config
/usr/lib/mono/gac/dbus-sharp/1.0.0.0__5675b0c3093115b5/dbus-sharp.dll.mdb
[...]

The assembly is already correctly installed/registered in the GAC.

Fixed.

Updating enet requires that egoboo be updated as well. Updating egoboo requires
physfs2 (only v1 is in Fedora right now). physfs2 requires lzma-sdk457.

I've packaged physfs2 and lzma-sdk457 for inclusion in Fedora, and I have
egoboo and enet ready to update in F-16 and rawhide. Any help with their review
bugs is appreciated:

Spec URL: http://spot.fedorapeople.org/physfs2.spec
SRPM URL: http://spot.fedorapeople.org/physfs2-2.0.2-1.fc16.src.rpm
Description:

PhysicsFS is a library to provide abstract access to various archives. It is
intended for use in video games, and the design was somewhat inspired by Quake
3's file subsystem. The programmer defines a "write directory" on the physical
filesystem. No file writing done through the PhysicsFS API can leave that
write directory, for security. For example, an embedded scripting language
cannot write outside of this path if it uses PhysFS for all of its I/O, which
means that untrusted scripts can run more safely. Symbolic links can be
disabled as well, for added safety. For file reading, the programmer lists
directories and archives that form a "search path". Once the search path is
defined, it becomes a single, transparent hierarchical filesystem. This makes
for easy access to ZIP files in the same way as you access a file directly on
the disk, and it makes it easy to ship a new archive that will override a
previous archive on a per-file basis. Finally, PhysicsFS gives you
platform-abstracted means to determine if CD-ROMs are available, the user's
home directory, where in the real filesystem your program is running, etc.

PACKAGER NOTE:
This is physfs v2, not compatible with physfs v1 (already packaged in Fedora as
"physfs"). There are several dependencies which still use v1 and have no plans
to port to v2. This package is designed to provide v2 of physfs, but not
conflict with the existing v1 package.

Also, it needs lzma-sdk457 in order to build (bz747092).

Spec URL: http://spot.fedorapeople.org/lzma-sdk457.spec
SRPM URL: http://spot.fedorapeople.org/lzma-sdk457-4.57-1.fc16.src.rpm
Description:
LZMA SDK provides the documentation, samples, header files, libraries,
and tools you need to develop applications that use LZMA compression.

LZMA is default and general compression method of 7z format
in 7-Zip compression program (7-zip.org). LZMA provides high
compression ratio and very fast decompression.

LZMA is an improved version of famous LZ77 compression algorithm.
It was improved in way of maximum increasing of compression ratio,
keeping high decompression speed and low memory requirements for
decompressing.

PACKAGER NOTE:
The LZMA SDK is entirely ABI/API incompatible across multiple releases, and it
is not uncommon for FOSS libraries and applications that wanted or needed LZMA
support to have picked the SDK that was current at the time, written to it,
then embedded a copy of it. There is already a "lzma-sdk" package at version
4.65. This is a package for version 4.57, which is needed by physfs and
physfs2. It does not conflict with the lzma-sdk package.

Also, This is my first package and I would like someone to sponsor me to
maintain this package.

[Bug 745510] Review Request: vdsm - Virtual Desktop Server Manager

--- Comment #12 from Richard W.M. Jones 2011-10-18 14:16:20
EDT ---
There's a few problems with the spec file.

- '%define' should be '%global' throughout.

- What was the reason for Conflicts: selinux-policy-targeted < ...?
Could it not be: Requires: selinux-policy-targeted >= ... instead?

- What's wrong with just dropping a new file into /etc/sudoers.d/?
Anything in this directory is included, and it avoids the ugly
  %post script rewrite of sudoers.

- Why is /etc/pki/vdsm/keys/libvirt_password not just a regular %config
  file in the %files section?

In general anything that would reduce or eliminate those
huge %pre/%post/%preun/%postun scripts would be a welcome change
and will improve your life because you'll get fewer bug reports
from unexpected user customizations.

Hello Frederico,

From my side, your package is APPROVED as well.
However, as Rafael said above, now you should request a formal review from
Richard Jones, after that you should go and request the Fedora SCM by raising
the fedora-cvs? flag.

Good work!

Cheers
Douglas

Howdy Frederico,

In a glance to your last SPEC modifications, I'm ok with your work now.

Since you got your sponsorship from rjones, now you should ask him to formally
review this work and approve it, before you can go on and ask for a Fedora SCM
repository for this project.

Happy Packaging!

--- Comment #22 from Elio Maldonado Batiz 2011-10-18

The upstream NSS team togther with the Mozilla team has been extremely busy
with the NSS 3.13 update and I have opted not to press this at this time. This
will takes the approval of both NSS and Mozilla developers and issuing
notififications in the development lists. I added some comments to the bug with
links to Fedora and Debian guidelines to support your request. Will add some
more before I bring if up with them. NSS has cannot do anything unless it gets
the buy in from the Mozilla team. NSS makes some strong commitments for binary
compatibility that a change like this one could break.

Having an additional bug against the Mozilla applications would help move this
forward as it will get more attention. The Mozilla applications interact with
NSS via xulrunner which is part of the Personal Security Manager component, aka
PSM. Could I bother you with logging a paralell bug with PSM and relate the two
bugs? Thanks in advance.

Robert's version looks good to me. rpmlint passes, packaging looks sane.
Licensing is correct. Installs fine and sample code from docs on website works.

I'd like to see these 3 minor things fixed up before or after importing:

 1. Let's do what the comment says:

   # Remove CFLAGS=... for noarch packages (unneeded)

 2. Don't need 'rm -rf %{buildroot}' in %install:

   http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Guidelines#BuildRoot_tag

 3. Don't need to define %{python_sitelib} anymore:

   http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Python#Macros

APPROVED
