[Bug 1764715] Review Request: python-django-health-check - Checks for various conditions and provides reports

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1764715

No serious issues found, but I would like to offer a few comments.

1. Note that this line is not required:
   Requires: python3-django

If you examine the Requires for the final binary package, you'll see:
   python3-django
   python3.8dist(django) >= 1.11

The first is due to the Requires line above. The second dependency is
already generated from setup.py, and is more specific than your version.

2. Note the macro-in-comment warnings from rpmlint. You should use double
percent signs, e.g., "%%check", so that rpm does not evaluate those macros.

3. The rpmlint warnings about objects.inv are, of course, wrong. You can make
rpmlint stop warning with a file named python-django-health-check.rpmlintrc
in the (not yet created) git repo containing something like the following:

   addFilter(r'W: wrong-file-end-of-line-encoding .*objects.inv')
   addFilter(r'W: file-not-utf8 .*objects.inv')

These plugin files are not shared libraries, are not installed into libdir, do
not have SONAMEs, and the glob does not conceal parts that are important in the
way mentioned. So this paragraph does not apply. But you should do as you see
fit.

However there is a bug here. The htslib main package creates the
libexecdir/htslib directory so needs to package the directory itself so that it
will be deleted on uninstall. So what this really wants is

%files
%{_libexecdir}/%{name}

or equivalent.

Description: Let R be an associative ring, not necessarily with a unit element.
The set of all elements of R forms a monoid with the neutral element 0 from R
under the operation r*s = r + s + rs defined for all r,s from R. This
operation is called 'circle multiplication'; it is also known as 'star
multiplication'. The monoid of elements of R under circle multiplication is
called the adjoint semigroup of R. The group of all invertible elements of
this monoid is called the adjoint group of R.

These notions naturally lead to a number of questions about the connection
between a ring and its adjoint group, for example, how the ring properties will
determine properties of the adjoint group; which groups can appear as adjoint
groups of rings; which rings can have adjoint groups with prescribed
properties, etc.

The main objective of the GAP package 'Circle' is to extend GAP functionality
for computations in adjoint groups of associative rings to make it possible to
use the GAP system for the investigation of such questions.

Circle provides functionality to construct circle objects that will respect
circle multiplication r*s = r + s + rs, create multiplicative groups, generated
by these objects, and compute groups of elements, invertible with respect to
this operation, for finite radical algebras and finite associative rings
without one.

As far as I know this is enabled automatically for F30 (F29?) so I omitted it.
Also I noticed upstream forgot to list a dependency so only tinycss2 is found
automatically.

I fixed the source url (I got the tarball from pypi) and also the egg-info
wildcard.

Description: This package contains GAP implementations of three different
approaches to constructing up to isomorphism all groups of a given order.

The FrattiniExtensionMethod constructs all soluble groups of a given order. On
request it gives only those that are (or are not) nilpotent or supersolvable or
that do (or do not) have normal Sylow subgroups for some given set of primes.
The program's output may be expressed in a compact coded form, if desired.

The CyclicSplitExtensionMethod constructs all (necessarily soluble) groups
whose given orders are of the form p^n*q for different primes p and q and which
have at least one normal Sylow subgroup. The method, which relies upon having
available a list of all groups of order p^n, is often faster than the Frattini
extension method for the groups to which it applies.

The UpwardsExtensions method takes as its input a permutation group G and
positive integer s and returns a list of permutation groups, one for each
extension of G by a soluble group of order a divisor of s. Usually it is used
for nonsoluble G only, since for soluble groups the above methods are more
efficient.

Felix, LGTM to me. Just a few tiny things:

- Linter warned about sources hash sum and spec file differ in RHBZ and SRPM.

- The one new thing i learned just yesterday from @churchyard :)

  %{python3_sitelib}/%{srcname}-%{version}-py?.?.egg-info/
to
  %{python3_sitelib}/%{srcname}-%{version}-py%{python3_version}.egg-info/

  Because:
  > The ?.? glob would break with Python 3.10.

Please fix this minor issues before import.

Btw: I noticed that pypi's cfgv tarball does not contain tests - only github's

OK, the other package is approved now, so reviewing this one (using my own
build of the stompest package to build this against):

[+]MUST: rpmlint must be run on the source rpm and all binary rpms the
build produces. The output should be posted in the review.

[adamw@adam Downloads]$ rpmlint ./bugzilla2fedmsg-1.0.0-1.fc30.src.rpm
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[adamw@adam Downloads]$ rpmlint
/var/lib/mock/fedora-31-x86_64/result/bugzilla2fedmsg-1.0.0-1.fc31.noarch.rpm
bugzilla2fedmsg.noarch: W: no-manual-page-for-binary bugzilla2fedmsg
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 1 warnings.

So...arguably since the binary isn't really intended to be run by humans, it
should got /usr/libexec rather than /usr/bin . Per the FHS, /usr/bin is for
"user commands" while /usr/libexec is for "Binaries run by other programs". I'm
not going to block the review on this, though.

[+]MUST: The package must be named according to the Package Naming
Guidelines .
[+]MUST: The spec file name must match the base package %{name}, in the
format %{name}.spec unless your package has an exemption.
[+]MUST: The package must meet the Packaging Guidelines .
[+]MUST: The package must be licensed with a Fedora approved license and
meet the Licensing Guidelines .
[+]MUST: The License field in the package spec file must match the actual
license.
[+]MUST: If (and only if) the source package includes the text of the
license(s) in its own file, then that file, containing the text of the
license(s) for the package must be included in %license.
[+]MUST: The spec file must be written in American English.
[+]MUST: The spec file for the package MUST be legible.
[+]MUST: The sources used to build the package must match the upstream
source, as provided in the spec URL. Reviewers should use sha256sum for this
task as it is used by the sources file once imported into git. If no upstream
URL can be specified for this package, please see the Source URL Guidelines for
how to deal with this.
[+]MUST: The package MUST successfully compile and build into binary rpms
on at least one primary architecture.
[NA] MUST: If the package does not successfully compile, build or work on an
architecture, then those architectures should be listed in the spec in
ExcludeArch. Each architecture listed in ExcludeArch MUST have a bug filed in
bugzilla, describing the reason that the package does not compile/build/work on
that architecture. The bug number MUST be placed in a comment, next to the
corresponding ExcludeArch line.
[+]MUST: All build dependencies must be listed in BuildRequires, except for
any that are listed in the exceptions section of the Packaging Guidelines ;
inclusion of those as BuildRequires is optional. Apply common sense.
[NA] MUST: The spec file MUST handle locales properly. This is done by using
the %find_lang macro. Using %{_datadir}/locale/* is strictly forbidden.
[NA] MUST: Every binary RPM package (or subpackage) which stores shared
library files (not just symlinks) in any of the dynamic linker's default paths,
must call ldconfig in %post and %postun.
[+]MUST: Packages must NOT bundle copies of system libraries.
[NA] MUST: If the package is designed to be relocatable, the packager must
state this fact in the request for review, along with the rationalization for
relocation of that specific package. Without this, use of Prefix: /usr is
considered a blocker.
[+]MUST: A package must own all directories that it creates. If it does not
create a directory that it uses, then it should require a package which does
create that directory.
[+]MUST: A Fedora package must not list a file more than once in the spec
file's %files listings. (Notable exception: license texts in specific
situations)
[+]MUST: Permissions on files must be set properly. Executables should be
set with executable permissions, for example.
[+]MUST: Each package must consistently use macros.
[+]MUST: The package must contain code, or permissible content.
[NA] MUST: Large documentation files must go in a -doc subpackage. (The
definition of large is left up to the packager's best judgement, but is not
restricted to size. Large can refer to either size or quantity).
[+]MUST: If a package includes something as %doc, it must not affect the
runtime of the application. To summarize: If it is in %doc, the program must
run properly if it is not present.
[NA] MUST: Static libraries must be in a -static package.
[NA] MUST: Development files must be in a -devel package.
[NA] MUST: In the vast majority of cases, devel packages must require the

I'm no longer able to maintain this package in Fedora (upstream GCC duties take

it appears that this is now in EPEL 7.

The package looks good but there is one important thing you must fix:

Naming [Fedora Packaging Guidelines / Python]
> The source package for a Python library MUST be named with the python- prefix.
> A built package however must include the Python major version in the name,
> using
> the python3- prefix. This is accomplished by adding a subpackage.
