[Bug 1942392] Review Request: rust-vmm-sys-util - Helpers and utilities used by multiple rust-vmm components and VMMs

I think the root `rust-vmm-sys-util-devel` is required by the other subfeature
versions, so running `dnf install rust-vmm-sys-util+serde-devel` should result
in rust-vmm-sys-util-devel being installed with the license. Is that
sufficient?

> [..]
> [?]: Fully versioned dependency in subpackages if applicable.

Fabiano, I believe you're correct. This looks good to me.

> [..]
> [?]: Package functions as described.
> Sergio, I haven't tested the package, I'd appreciate if Connor could do.

I have a package that only transiently depends on vmm-sys-util for unit tests,
but a lot of the other required packages aren't packaged for Fedora yet since
they depend on this one. So I think it would be nontrivial for me to position
my other package to test this library. The unit tests that run for this package
are all passing, which is good enough for me.

--- Comment #3 from Otto Urpelainen  ---
I will review. This looks simple enough, but is the first time I encounter
libtool and pkgconfig, so please be patient if I need a bit of time to
understand the build system.

Issues found by running fedora-review and inspecting output follow. This is
just the first look at the package, so there may still be other issues that
automation cannot detect:

- Libtool archives (.la) should not be packaged
  Note: libuev : /usr/lib64/libuev.la
  See:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#packaging-static-libraries

- Development (unversioned) .so files should be in the -devel subpackage.
  Note: Unversioned so-files directly in %_libdir.
  See:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_devel_packages

- Static library libuev.a should not be included at all, the shared object
  should be used by all dependencies. If the static library is really required
  for some reason, it should go to -static subpackage.
  See:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#packaging-static-libraries

- Rpmlint reveals the following problems:

libuev.x86_64: W: incoherent-version-in-changelog 3.3-1 ['2.3.2-1.fc35',
'2.3.2-1']
libuev.src:33: W: mixed-use-of-spaces-and-tabs (spaces: line 1, tab: line
33)

- Complains about the use of AM_CONFIG_HEADER found in:
libuev-2.3.2/configure.ac:7
  This is just an extra item, however it would be nice to contact upstream
about using its replacement.
  See:
https://ftp.gnu.org/old-gnu/Manuals/automake-1.7.2/html_chapter/automake_5.html#SEC23

Also I noticed a strange thing: the rpm both Requires and Provides
libuev.so.2()(64bit). I need to look deeper into that, how that happened and is
that a problem.

Robert, I just created release 242 containing the requested fixes.

New spec URL:

My understanding is that the '%if 0%{?suse_version}' comment is not a blocking
one. We indeed share this generate for other distros from a sigle template
specfile.

[Bug 1944554] Review Request: perl-Glib-IO - Perl binding to the GIO library

2021-03-30 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1944554

--- Comment #5 from Petr Pisar  ---
The usage is this one:

  my $loop = Glib::MainLoop->new ();

That does not load Glib module. The test just expects that Glib::MainLoop was
imported
implicitly somewhere somehow (probably by Glib transitively loaded by "use
Glib::IO;"
at line #5). It's maybe a deficiency in the test, but the RPM dependency should
not be there:

[test@fedora-35 Glib-IO-0.001]$ perl -Ilib -e 'Glib::MainLoop->new'
Can't locate object method "new" via package "Glib::MainLoop" (perhaps you
forgot to load "Glib::MainLoop"?) at -e line 1.
[test@fedora-35 Glib-IO-0.001]$ perl -Ilib -e 'use Glib::MainLoop;
Glib::MainLoop->new'
Can't locate Glib/MainLoop.pm in @INC (you may need to install the
Glib::MainLoop module) (@INC contains: lib /usr/local/lib64/perl5/5.32
/usr/local/share/perl5/5.32 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl
/usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5) at -e line 1.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at -e line 1.
[test@fedora-35 Glib-IO-0.001]$ perl -Ilib -e 'use Glib; Glib::MainLoop->new'
[test@fedora-35 Glib-IO-0.001]$ perl -Ilib -e 'use Glib::IO;
Glib::MainLoop->new'

There is usage of Glib::MainLoop in t/file-enumerator.t

I cannot see where Glib module is used in the tests (grep -Hnr 'Glib[^:]' ./t).
Do we really need perl(Glib) among BuildRequires?

2021-03-30 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1936727

--- Comment #2 from Rich Mattes  ---
Thanks for taking a look. You're right that the dependency versions in Fedora
are wrong. The entire ignition/gazebo set of packages are version locked and
need to be updated at the same time, and this package is required for gazebo-11
and therefore the rest of the ignition packages to be updated. The correct
versions are all in the copr I linked, once the new ignition packages are
reviewed they'll all be upgraded in rawhide.

remove all the find commands except of "*.bs" line. See
 for an example.
TODO: Remove "rm -rf %{buildroot}" from %install section. It's obsolete.
TODO: Remove %clean section. It's obsolete.
FIX: Package LICENSE file with %license macro.

Note that mixing %pyproject_buildrequires with %py3_build/%py3_install is
generally not a supported way of building Python packages. Please, either use
the "old" macros, or the "new", described in
