The current scheme does not allow multiple versions to be maintained. We
now have the following containers:

glusterfs-client - Fedora 25 with 3.9.1
gluster-centos - centos 7.3 with 3.8.9
gluster-fedora - Fedora 24 with 3.8.4

We could look at moving to a model where we have distro containers for
every supported gluster release. This could mean that containers named
gluster-centos & gluster-fedora will always have the latest versions of
gluster. Older releases would have to be named after the release version -
maybe something like gluster38-centos or centos-gluster38 and these
containers would have the latest of the respective release branch.

3.8 should probably stay and get updated on regular basis, 3.9 should be
removed and 3.10 can get added (packages landed in the Storage SIG last week).

packages for Fedora 26 (rawhide) are in Fedora Updates.
packages for Fedora 24 and 25, and Debian Jessie(8) and Stretch(9) are
 available on download.gluster.org at [1]
packages for Ubuntu Xenial(16.04), Yakkety(16.10), and Zesty(17.04) are
available in the Launchpad PPAs at [2]
packages for SLES12 and OpenSuSE Leap 42.2 are available in the OpenSuSE
 Build System (OBS) at [3]

Note: The Fedora and Debian packages are signed with a new key for 3.10.
The public key is at [4]

There is a new .../LTM-3.10->.../3.10/3.10.0 symlink. The
.../3.10/LATEST->.../3.10/3.10.0 symlink has been created. I will be
moving the .../LATEST symlink to .../3.10/3.10.0 shortly.

Now I'm off to try to remember how to kick of CentOS Storage SIG builds.
I will send an update when the builds are done.

HI Vijay,

Apologies for delayed response. Generally the buids are triggered once its
available in CentOS/Fedora distros. But its possible to build images based
on releases available in d.g.o.

I will revisit the repo and builds to accommodate docker image for this
latest release.

HI All,

Do we have 3.10 rpms in CentOS storage SIG ? . We are not able to find it .
Also, download.gluster.org points to SIG.

The built rpms can be found here though

Packages have been built for CentOS 7. As with RC0 and RC1 there is no
repository on the servers yet that can be used for installing. There
 will be a "gluster-3.10" directory here soon(ish?):

   https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/6/storage/x86_64/
   https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/storage/x86_64/

Those directories can be used as a "baseurl" in a YUM .repo file.

Until the gluster-3.10 directories appear you can get the CentOS 7
 x86_64 RPMs from http://cbs.centos.org/kojifiles/work/tasks/3741/163741
(aarch64 and ppc64le RPMs are available too if anyone is interested in
 those.)

There is a nit issue with the CentOS 6 build.

I am testing these builds out, they are at present only in the location

Niels will publish it once I complete the package install testing.

Shyam,

Sure, We will be happy to build the image and do a sanity testing on it. README
sounds good. For container image we depend on centos-release-gluster${release}
package as we use it to build gluster image based on centos.

Humble/Ashiq,

Can we add you to the packaging@gluster.org list, which is notified of
new releases (or release candidates) that need packaging? This is so
that you can build out the container images, for releases going forward.

As a workflow, once a release is announced to this list, we can also
build out the container images (once the specific platform packages are
built i.e), for every release going forward, and we need not use mail
reminders to track the same.

Further, we can also possibly add to download.gluster.org, a link in
LATEST and the respective release version, a directory for container
images, to contain a README for where to find container images?

Kaleb/Niels/Others, Thoughts?

I am testing these builds out, they are at present only in the location
specified, and not in the SIG yet.

Niels will publish it once I complete the package install testing.

I had sent an earlier need for the same, but I do not have any owners

Ideally whoever owns it, should join packg...@gluster.org, so that

This release is made off jenkins-release-187

packages for Fedora 26 (rawhide) are in Fedora Updates.
packages for Fedora 24 and 25, and Debian Jessie(8) and Stretch(9) are
available on download.gluster.org at [1]
packages for Ubuntu Xenial(16.04), Yakkety(16.10), and Zesty(17.04) are
available in the Launchpad PPAs at [2]
packages for SLES12 and OpenSuSE Leap 42.2 are available in the
OpenSuSE
Build System (OBS) at [3]

Note: The Fedora and Debian packages are signed with a new key for
3.10.

Now I'm off to try to remember how to kick of CentOS Storage SIG
builds.
I will send an update when the builds are done.

Packages have been built for CentOS 7. As with RC0 and RC1 there is no
repository on the servers yet that can be used for installing. There
will be a "gluster-3.10" directory here soon(ish?):

  https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/6/storage/x86_64/
  https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/storage/x86_64/

Those directories can be used as a "baseurl" in a YUM .repo file.

Until the gluster-3.10 directories appear you can get the CentOS 7
x86_64 RPMs from http://cbs.centos.org/kojifiles/work/tasks/3741/163741
(aarch64 and ppc64le RPMs are available too if anyone is interested in
those.)

There is a nit issue with the CentOS 6 build.

PEBKAB. Packages are now built for CentOS 6 too.

Until the gluster-3.10 directories appear you can get the CentOS 6
x86_64 and i686 RPMs from
  http://cbs.centos.org/kojifiles/work/tasks/3767/163767
and
  http://cbs.centos.org/kojifiles/work/tasks/3768/163768
respectively.

Thank you all for your efforts in getting here!

I think it would be useful to have container images for 3.10 posted on
docker hub [1]. Who can help here? Humble - would that be you?

I had sent an earlier need for the same, but I do not have any owners
for this yet.

Ideally whoever owns it, should join packg...@gluster.org, so that
respective images can be rolled out as a part of the packaging stage.

So whoever volunteers, please keep the above as part of the requirement.

Regards,
Vijay

can we do one more build? We want to take in 2 of krutika's patches
which fix VM corruption with add-brick and one patch from me for EC?
