I don't know what vo it uses or why (and up until the other day, i did not know what a vo was). I do, however, have it working now. (Quit) When i run gmplayer as root, it plays (although the video can not be seen. i think my video resolution has something to do with the video not looking right). I have been trying to get this working every-since i enabled "desktop effects" in gnome (3d, wobbly windows and the like). OK, i got it working. I used gmplayer -vo x11 from the CL and this played it just like it use to. The question is, how to make it always use x11?
