Re: [packman] Kodi vs. ffmpeg 2.8
Hi, We can also build Kodi with it's internal version of ffmpeg. version 2.8.6 from https://github.com/xbmc/FFmpeg We used to do it for some time due to an issue in opensuse ffmpeg version. Sagi. I doubt that as simply building against ffmpeg-2.8[1] is avoiding the crash. It looks like ffmpeg-2.6 is used for this kodi. We can add yet another ffmpeg variant and force it via pkgconfig() in kodi.spec. That sounds like a good idea. Since ffmpeg 2.8 is used since a long time already its not really a new bug. 14 days isn't really a long time IMHO :-) And as you can see on the kodi forums, users get sent away with problems that occur with this combination. Did that error occour just > this weekend, or did it already happen during last week? Current kodi-15.2-6 and its dependencies link against ffmpeg-2.8. Is there perhaps a mix of OBS and PMBS packages? Unfortunately with the new ffmpeg-2.8 pkg the CI_CNT of the ffmpeg libs dropped from 55 to 1. This breaks 'zypper dup'. Looks like the only way around is a few dozen dummy commits in ffmpeg-2.8 to bump the CI_CNT to increase the version-release number.
