Their anger at Verizon is centered on the Motorola v710 phone and the fact that Verizon has disabled some of the Bluetooth functionality in the phone, specifically the Bluetooth file-transfer capability. Verizon claims it had to do that due to contractual agreements with content providers featured in its Get It Now store, which has files that customers can download, though they must pay for them. Verizon Wireless says it had to disable the Bluetooth file-transfer capability of the phone to prevent Get It Now applications from being transferred beyond the phone. That's not a good enough excuse for some California customers, who are taking Verizon Wireless to court. A lawsuit filed by Kirtland & Packard L.L.P. claims that Verizon displayed "willful, deceptive and oppressive conduct" in limiting the functionality of the v710.
