[Paraview] Changing default setting for cylinder filter

2017-10-01 Thread Muhammad Kashif Saeed
Hi everyone,
I want to draw a cylinder in ParaView.
its default setting is such that its height is in the y-direction but i
want to change it in z_direction.

I have radius 0.07 m and height 0.3 m in Z direction
plz help me
thanks

Re: [Paraview] Subdomain

2017-09-11 Thread Muhammad Kashif Saeed
Thanks, Cory,
I can count the particles in a clip box but can you help me how to adjust
the desired location of clip box because I have to use lot of clip box
filters to cover the whole domain in small box domains.

Thanks in advance

[Paraview] Subdomain

2017-09-05 Thread Muhammad Kashif Saeed
Hi everyone,

I have posted this question some days ago but could not get any answer. Now
I am trying to explain it more.

I am using open source software LIGGGHTS, which uses DEM (discrete element
method), My simulation contains a cylinder and 4 bladed impeller which
rotates inside the cylinder. I have inserted 3 types of particles in the
cylinder and rotate the impeller which causes mixing of particles that
process is done using LIGGGHTS software.

Now for post processing, i am using ParaView. In Paraview, I can see the
particles mixed each other. but I want to find out the mixing status for
that purpose I want to use Subdomain based mixing index (SMI).

For SMI calculation, it requires dividing the domain into subdomains like
3D mesh and to find the total number of particles and number of particles
of each type in each cell of mesh/subdomain.

Please let me know how can I create these subdomains in ParaView?

[Paraview] 3D structured grid

2017-08-30 Thread Muhammad Kashif Saeed
Hi everyone,

Can you tell me that by using structured grid can I get the data from each
cell of the grid from already completed simulation by using DEM technique?

I have attached a picture of my simulation in which different particles are
mixed each other. I want to calculate the mixing index to evaluate the
mixing condition. I want to use subdomain mixing index for that purpose I
have to divide this simulation into the number of subdomains to find the
mixing index.

Please let me know how can I create these subdomains in ParaView?
are the 3D structured grid of required size can be used for that purpose?

Regards

[Paraview] creating subdomain/cells/sections

2017-08-23 Thread Muhammad Kashif Saeed
Hi,

I am working on mixing of particles in a cylindrical mixer using DEM in
open source software liggghts and for post processing, i am using paraview.

I want to calculate the non-sampling mixing index for that purpose it
requires to divide the cylindrical portion of the domain into a different
subdomain (sections/cells) of the known number.

and want to find the number of particles in each subdomain/cell/section.

Kindly first help me how to divide into different subdomains.

my simulation consists of a cylinder in which 4 bladed impeller rotates to
mix the two different size particle beds mix together.

thanks in advance
