 Hi Michael
Thanks for the information Now I am back to square one, I would like a
mp3 player that will remember where you left off both on cd and mp3 files.
Long Battery life is also important. Does the iriver fit the bill.
Will email Panasonic about memory question.

Scott, I don't think, that the Panasonic players can resume exactly at
the stop position. If you're looking for an MP3-CD-player, which can run
longer on batteries than the iRiver machines, you might consider the
Sony D-NE300 or D-NE700. These players use batteries more economically
than the iRivers and have dedicated buttons to go to the previous and
next directory. However, the Sony players only remember the stop
position of the current CD. As soon as you open the door, the stop
position marker is forgotten. One can't set bookmarks with the Sony
  players either.

Any
 help would be appreciated.Scott

Hi Group
Called Panasonic and they said that their portable model do not have a auto resume.
Called Iriver and they said slimx550 only remembers 1 cd. Look at my previous post and
give me your opinion of a CD/Mp3 Player 12 cd auto resume function ,battery life is
not great.

sound forge question.

2004-07-23 Thread Mike Mote
Hi folks! I was trying to install my sound forge version 6.0 on my lap top, but I ran
into problems, because my CD drive on my lap top will not read the disk for some
strange reason. It just sits there. I'm wondering if I can download SF 6 from
somewhere, and use my serial number.
Sincerely:

Pronunciation with TextAloud.

2004-07-23 Thread Gina Grunden
Is it possible with the AtT voice Crystal, to make Text Aloud.mp3 to say hmm,
instead of h m m m m?
I have been playing around in the Pronunciation Editor, typing various things,
but I just can't seem to make it say it.
I hope someone can help because this is really quite annoying.

i use yahoo messenger all the time, and find it to be reasonably speech
friendly, although you do need to use a lot of jaws cursor, so if your
good
with your jaws cursor useage, you'll be fine.

Re: Pronunciation with TextAloud.

2004-07-23 Thread Gina Grunden
Okay, that sounds good to me. Maybe between the two of us we can work it out. I
know it's something little, but it's annoying. I know that it says c u z instead
of cuz, and that's annoying as I use that word often as well.
Also, it says y a instead of ya, and there are others, but I won't go in to them
here.

May be between the two of us we can work this thing out. I have the same
problems changing pronunciations with Text Aloud. I actually got the guys to
send me the part of the help file that discusses this phonemes business as a
doc file. However I can make little of it. Perhaps I could send it to you
off list and you might have a look at it. For Window-eyes it doesn't make a
 great deal of sense.
 Cheers

XM with JAWS again

2004-07-23 Thread Debbie Crafts
Hello listers,
Well I got my XM PCR up and activated tonight and must say I'm wowed! JAWS
works with it more smoothly than I anticipated having read the prior
threads, but I do have some lingering questions: I thought I read that you
can schedule and record shows right from the software and I would really
appreciate knowing how this is done. Also if anyone knows where JAWS
scripts might be had I'd be very grateful! Finally, someone mentioned an
alternate program called Replace PCR. What does this do differently from
the standard software and can you provide a direct download URL? Feel free
to contact me off-list if you can provide any pointers. Thanks.

Re: Dectalk USB

2004-07-23 Thread Bruce Toews
I've had extremely positive experiences with my DecTalk USB, While both
the drivers and the unit's firmware are still in need of a little
tweaking, the fact that the unit is completely programable is encouraging.
It is very responsive, easily as responsive as any other synthesizer I've
used, especially at its high speeds.
