susan: when in the volume control, hit file, and hit proparties, then choose, adjust options for playback, hit tap, you'll find the things you want, you'll find the mike unchecked, check it, then you'll find it in your volume control, each time you open it, before the line in but about the chat room, i think the recording is the matter, try increase the volume, and try, if you want to try it on the ms messenger, add me: [EMAIL PROTECTED] cheers ramy - Original Message - From: Susan Wojtecki [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, July 26, 2004 2:16 PM Subject: confused about mic settings and volume control Hi listers, I should know this but it's early, so hopefully someone can clear the fog in my brain . I was trying to figure out what if anything I can do to increase my mic volume in a chat room. In going into the volume controls for SB Live, I'm not seeing anything for microphone under playback, is this correct? Assuming there should be a mic option under playback, what do I have to do to fix this? In the record controls I found that the mic volume was down to 11pc though everything else seemed to be where I expected. I have increased it to 71pc but wondered if this will solve my problem in the chat room? also, I find the recording settings a bit confusing since it seems that only one thing can be checked at a time, right? I want to keep my settings as constant as possible and to save them in Quikmix but want to besure I have them optimally configured, so could someone advise me on this? Oh, and I am running them through total recorder rather than the sound card if that means anything. This is with JAWS 4.02 and Windows 98 SE. Many thanks for your assistance. RE: saving radio stations with media plyer
Hi. I don't have xp, but in windows media player 9 you add the currently playing track to the library from the file menu. It's saved under other media in the library tree view. My old jfw version does not read the list view either, I was hoping that would have been corrected with xp and a later version of jfw. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, July 24, 2004 10:10 AM To: PC audio discussion list. adding other voices in saypad?
This question is on behalf of a friend in Brazil I recommended saypad to. Now he would like to know how to add other voices. Believe it or not, I don't have an MP3 player here separate from my computer, so I have no real use for text to mp3, so can't really help him, but he asked me if I knew of anything he could use, and I looked it up in list archives. Re: line in recording using headphone jack
If you use the headphone jack as output, the chances of getting a good clean signal are minimal. It just never quite works, I think it has something to do with the waythe sound is amplified before hitting the headphone jack. Best to use your stereo's line out if you have one.
