Do you already need to have a version of Kazaa installed before you run
these files, or is the first one the install file for the program?

Subject: Kazaa Lite

Hi List,

For several months, I have been hearing many users say that they are very
dissatisfied with Kazaa Lite, and its serious lack of users or lack of file
content.

I too was in that same boat, and decided to do something about it.

The first thing I did is to go to:

http://users.telenet.be/mavol2/private/KLR0075(www.filesharingplace.com).exe

And then to:

http://users.telenet.be/mavol2/private/KLR0076-updater(www.filesharingplace.com).exe

Now, You have to get the first file, which is the 0075.exe, and then
install it, then, get the second file, which is the 0076.exe and then
install that one.

You will be up-to-date.

After the installation of the 0076.exe file is complete, you will get a
message concerning magnet links. This is just how kazaa works with other
web-sharing systems. You can choose to say yes or no, to the prompt of
registering magnet links with kazaa. I did choose to do this but, either
way, it will not cause the kazaa lite program to function improperly.

The next thing to note, is that there are still the silly script error pop
up messages, when you fire up Kazaa Lite every time. The home page must be
messed up so, simply go under the kazaa lite options and change your start
page to whatever you wish. I have mine set to google but no matter.

Now if you still see limited amount of users or files, simply mash the enter
key on the option located under the file menu for -- jump super node.

Jump super node will simply move you to another more populated node. These
options are in all versions of kazaa but, I wanted to make sure that
whatever the author did to fix any bugs, that I had the latest versions
installed on my system.

Again, I still will sometimes see low amount of users but, after jumping
around a bit, it is very common for me to see the 2 or 3 milion users that I
was accustomed to seeing a few months ago.

If you still like kazaa, please give all this a try. I am happy once again.
And have no problems with finding those hard to find files.

Re: Downloading Nero demo.

2004-08-10 Thread Melissa Hambleton
Thanks for the info you gave me. You were right neither OldVersion.com or
Nero.com worked for me so I never had a chance to try out Nero. I probably
passed over the part of the website of Nero.com that it was not a free
version because I was just looking over the different links on there. I
don't know if a free demo version will come out this month or not to try out
but if it doesn't I am thinking of buying Nero next month. Also, thanks to
the others that did try to help me out it was very much appreciated.

Hello!
I think you should charge them about 12 hours.
But is far as i have understood you can if you want to charge them as long
as you want.
THey can't get over charged or what you call it in english.
But if you charge tham for 12 hours then you can use them for about 4 hours.
But i have'nt found any manual or documentation for them on the internet.

Yes, if you have 3.53 you will have to uninstall it and re-install 3.31 if
you want to use quickmx. Just make sure you keep both versions around in

Re: quickmx

2004-08-10 Thread Brian Lewis
That happened to me, too. I do think that version 1.2.3 is the latest and
it only works with Winmx version 3.31 . If you read the quickmx.txt, they
promise faithfully to have a new version of quickmx about a week after a new
version of Winmx comes out, but we know better than that, don't we?

Re: problem with QuickMx

2004-08-10 Thread Brian Lewis
Don't worry about auto-find in Winmx. Quickmx will change it anyway since
it's always searching. What you may want to do is go to your sys-tray and
bring up quickmx. Then get to your context menu. You'll find things like
"stop using quickmx" and some other things including an auto-find there.
Set that one to 10, which is the highest setting. This will tell quickmx to
do 10 searches at a time, and if you have some files waiting, it should find
them and download them if there's anybody online who has them. If you do
have any incomplete files, be sure to go to the Transfers window and click
the "Load Incomplete" button. That tells Winmx that you want to finish the
incomplete files, and then quickmx will help winmx to find them if they're
available. Just be aware that it can take a while. I've been known to
leave it online for hours with no results at all, then go to bed leaving it
online all night and find several completed files in the morning. Of course
if your internet connection costs you per hour, you definitely don't want to
do that. Hope this helps!

Hi all!
I downloaded and ran the quickmx.exe program. But now winmx constantly says
"finding sources" and doesn't seem to be downloading. I have auto find
sources set to 15 m and auto enter queue set to 100. Should I adjust
anything?

I didn't see the original post with this question, and I apologize. I am
very impressed with these headphones. The signal is very clear. Static is

I have a set of Sennheiser RS-65 wireless headphones, the ones that come

recharge a battery that's slotted into the bass unit? Also, are these

Re: Radio Netscape

2004-08-10 Thread Jessica
I have it, and eventually took it off my hard drive, because I could do
nothing with it. You have to use the jaws curser to navigate through
everything, and even then, you can't always garantee you'll have selected
the channel you wanted.
My best reccomendation to you, would be the spinamp plugin; it's easier to
use, and accesses a lot of those same stations, as well as some of a couple
from aol radio, and you have a pretty big selection.

primarily RM and RAM files. However, I have not been able to play files
associated with certain streams which I think have an .ave extension. I'm
wondering if Real 10 would allow me the ability to play some files which
Real 8 does not support, and can't remember whether it is free or by
subscription. It's not so much that I want to use RealPlayer--I'd prefer to
keep Winamp as my default and to use it as much as possible but would
consider adding Real 10 if there is any advantage to it. Is this a free
player or only available by subscription and where can I get it, and how
does it compare to Real Alternative, or would I be better off looking for
that? For a long time I thought the quality of Winamp streams was
definitely superior, has RealPlayer improved much?

And speaking of quality, I've just upgraded to Winamp 5.03 and thought I saw
something about Windows Media support though haven't been through the
documentation. Does this version support playing .wma files? Sorry for all
the questions, any thoughts and advice much appreciated.

I totally agree about Cdex. That is my
favorite and easiest encoding program I
have ever come across. Maybe it does not
have everything fancier sound editors
do, but does the job nicely.

Kazaa Lite

2004-08-10 Thread Roger R. Cusson

Re: QUICK MX

2004-08-10 Thread Brian Lewis
You don't really install it. You unzip it into the folder where you want it
and just run the quickmx program. There's a couple of text files and a .dll
file and the program file itself. I suggest starting Winmx first and then
running quickmx. Quickmx will start Winmx, but I've heard of problems if
you do it that way. I've never tried it myself, but my understanding is
that if you start quickmx first it'll slow your system down. I have no idea
why that is.

Once you're in quickmx, go to your context menu and check that auto-find
setting. I think it defaults to ten. If so, just leave it there. If it's
on something lower than ten, change it to ten.

Re: QUICK MX

2004-08-10 Thread Brian Lewis
Yes, I think it is. I know it definitely improves my downloads. First,
it's continuously searching for files. Second, it can do up to ten searches
at a time, and between the two things, you can get a lot more downloads.
One thing, though, when you first start, be sure to go to the Transfers
window and click the "Load Incomplete" button. This makes sure that Winmx
knows that you still want to finish all those downloads that didn't finish
before. Once you hit that Load Incomplete button, Winmx and Quickmx will
start searching for those incompletes and finish them if they are found.

all I get is a page with an untitled frame and one link to a sight meter.

You may also like to check the read commands that CDEX is using for your
drive, if I recall their is a detect read command somewhere in CDEX, don't
ask me where that command is though as its absolute ages! since I've played
with that software. Also check the mode that CDEX is using for your
CD-ROM/RW, whether its compatible wiht your drive and adaptor (burs mode etc).

I'm sure you'll find that (f you get the above setings right) this will be
of more help the the track offset settings for the problems that have been
discussed in this thread.
