I use my PVR all the time. True, I do require sighted assistance in
setting or deleting timers, but the rest I am able to do on my own. I
wouldn't trade my PVR for all the VCR's in North America.

Re: Nero problem

2004-11-26 Thread shirley
also you can make compilations with windows media player providing the music
is already on your hard drive
its simple to. what you do is this.
open windows media player, go to library, make sure you have a blank cd in
the cd rw drive.
then select each track you want. you can hit the application key when your
on each track and go down till you hear add to. open this and it will say
burn list, now playing etc. select burn list. do this for every track. once
all songs are added tab until you hear start burn.
and hit the space bar on that.
i am not sure if there is a way in windows media player to have the timeread
out..i.e how many minutes the cd is.
also is nero is their a way to copy part of a cd, take it out and put in a
new one or does the music have to be stored on your hard drive alreayd

Subject: Re: Nero problem

Hi Terri.
Try this:
Using Nero to burn a compilation from tracks stored on your hard drive

Start Nero from the desktop or programs menu.

1.. You can configure Nero to present the new compilation dialogue in
preferences. To do this:
1.. Press Alt + F to open the File Menu.
2.. Arrow down to Preferences and press enter
3.. Press spacebar on the first checkbox to check start with New
compilation
4.. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar to save the settings.
1.. Now when you start Nero, you will see the new compilation dialogue
and
you will be placed on the multisession tab.
2.. Press shift + tab until you reach the combo box that allows you to
select what task you wish to perform. This will usually be defaulted to
CD-ROM which is used for data compilations.
3.. Now choose the format of the CD you would like to burn. Select Audio
from the radio buttons if you want a CD that will play in standard CD
players or select Data if you want a CD that will be used to contain MP3
tracks that will only be played in an MP3 player. Tab to Next and press
enter.
4.. Press enter on the New button and the compilation window will be in
focus.
5.. Use the keystroke windows + E to start Windows Explorer.
6.. Locate the tracks you wish to add to your compilation by browsing the
folders on your hard drive where they reside.
7.. For selected tracks, use the keystroke control + C to copy them to
the
clipboard.
8.. Press alt + tab to bring the Nero compilation window back into focus.
9.. Use the keystroke control + V to paste the tracks into the
compilation.
10.. Repeat steps 7 through 10 until you have added all of the tracks you
want to include in your compilation.
11.. You may now want to reorder the tracks in your compilation. To do
this, use the keystroke control + X to cut the track to the keyboard then
use the up and down arrow keys to locate the track that you wish to
immediately follow the track you've just cut to the clipboard. Use the
keystroke control + V to paste the track into the compilation and it will
then appear at this point. NOTE: this reordering is only possible if you
have chose audio format and not possible for data format.
12.. When you are ready to burn your compilation, close all running
applications so that Nero is not competing for your computer's resources.
13.. To burn the compilation, press alt + F to open the file menu and
then
press W to open the Burn dialogue.
14.. Tab to the Burn button and press enter.

tool tips auto read when you mouse to the item or menu and when you hit the

Whereas, the full version of Nero works very well. I use it with

version. The bad news is the cost. I do find Nero to be a fine burning program.

RE: The New TiVo Series2T DVR

2004-11-26 Thread Adrian Beech
When you say that it connects to "cable" does it mean that it has a decoder
built in? If so then what is the sound quality like? Can it handle both
analog and digital signals? I'd be interested in such a beast purely for
the audio side of things!

Just curious.

Has anyone tried this product. I understand you are supposed to be able to

if this is the inaccessible stuff we discussed a while back.
I know this box will hook to your cable connection or your usb ports, but is

Kevin: Depending on which version of "Total Recorder you have; if you have
the "standard version, you must already be connected with the stream that
you want to record; as I understand it, if you have "Total Recorder

record.

Re: Nero problem

2004-11-26 Thread Kevin Lloyd
Hi.

Sorry for the repetition but try this:

Using Nero to burn a compilation from tracks stored on your hard drive

Start Nero from the desktop or programs menu.

1.. You can configure Nero to present the new compilation dialogue in
preferences. To do this:
1.. Press Alt + F to open the File Menu.
2.. Arrow down to Preferences and press enter
3.. Press spacebar on the first checkbox to check start with New
compilation
4.. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar to save the settings.
1.. Now when you start Nero, you will see the new compilation dialogue and
you will be placed on the multisession tab.
7.. For selected tracks, use the keystroke control + C to copy them to the
clipboard.
13.. To burn the compilation, press alt + F to open the file menu and then
press W to open the Burn dialogue.
14.. Tab to the Burn button and press enter.

Hi All,

Please use subject lines it helps so much when you're going through a bunch
of e-mail. Also, I tend to not read messages sometimes if they don't have a
subject. If I don't recognize the name or something and there's no subject,
it gets deleted.

Hi Marty, Curt, and group,

Curt won't have to pay for another registration for TotalRecorder. On the
high criteria website there is a link that will allow registered users of
the software to recover their registration information at no additional

HI,
well you can't search from within these programs due to the nature of the
bittorrent network. It's not just one big network, but based on many
trackers that are not connected.
You'll have to go to a site like
www.suprnova.org

Remember to disable flash on this page.

Re: Burning a CD with Nero Express

2004-11-26 Thread Brian Olesen
HI Ann,
Well just open it together with an ordinary file explorer.
What you do is you select the files you want to add and then mark them for
copy by pressing ctrl c.
Then you paste them into the listbox of your nero express.

Best regards
Brian

Hi Kevin,
I was wondering if it had been removed.
So do you know how I can burn a CD, without the wizard?
Thanks,
Terri

Is it not mentioned in one of your menus?
Look in the help menu

Hello everyone, and happy Thanksgiving,
Like my subject says, I have a nero problem.
Right now, I'm using a demo of version 6, but will have the real thing soon.
I'm wanting to burn a CD, and would like to use the wizard. However, mine
isn't set up that way.
Can I change the set up? If so, then how?
I looked threw the preferences, but didn't see anything about the wizard in
there.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Terri
