USB FM transmitter

2004-11-30 Thread Karl Smith

Hi Folks,

I'm sure this was covered before but, naturally, I wasn't as interested in
this as I am now. Which model of USB FM transmitter have people been
buying and does it require power or does it draw power from the USB
port? Thanks.

good morning shirley, a place to start is getting the model number and
putting it into a search engin. the other thing you can do is to go to

to find the manual.

Hi Samuel, first there has to be Q markers in the file, in order to split
it.there is two ways of doing that.If there is silent gaps in the file, you
can automatically put markers at the silent gaps, if not, you'll have to go
through the file and put them in manually.

Hi, Scott, go into preferences, with control p, and arrow down to media
library, and if this isn't expanded, do so with the right arrow, then
shift tab to the tab control, and if you're not on streaming media,
right arrow or control tab over to it, and then tab to the list view,
and from this four item list, select internet radio, and then tab to
the button that says manage views, and press the space bar, and once
there, tab to the modify preferences button, and press the space bar,
and in there, will be an edit box that you can change to what ever you
like, I have mine set at 7000, then tab to the close button, and press
the space bar, and then the next time you launch the library with alt
l, it will automatically try to find as many radio stations in there
that it can. Hope this helps.

audio/video files

2004-11-30 Thread TerriStimmel
Hello everyone,
I'm hoping this isn't off topic.
I was wondering, how would I save something I recorded from TV, as a video?
I want to record some TV shows. But when I put them on my computer, I don't
want to just save them as mp3's.
I want to have both the audio and video. But I'm not sure how to do this.
Do I need any special programs, or any sort of hardware, or software
installed?
And sense I'm not sure how well the picture comes out, when I record, I'm
not sure how my files will come out.
Is there any sure way to end up with a near decent-looking file, even though
I won't be able to see what it looks like?
I want to do this, so anyone who wants my shows, can get them.
Thanks,
Terri

Locating Inputs On My computer's Soundcard

2004-11-30 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hello list: Hope that maybe someone can help me with this one..and that
it's not off-topic. What I'm trying to do is to locate where I can plug
things into my computer's soundcard. For instance, I have a little device
called a Soundfeeder..it works on the same principal as the transmitterrs
that C-crane sells..only they're probably not as good)..I figured I'd drag
that ole thing out..and see if I could get it to work; I'm hoping to be able
to do things like listen to XM online..or anything musical that comes from
my computer..in other parts of the house by transmitting it to anoter radio
or something. Problem is..I don't seem to be able to find where I'd plug in
such a device! I have an HP machine; don't know the exact model. But I was
told that it has what's known as an intergraded soundcard. Does anybody on
this fine list have an idea of what I'm speaking of? Thanks for your
time..and for any help you can provide.

Re: Saving a CD

2004-11-30 Thread Kelly Pierce
Jim,
Why horse around with windows media Player when there is CDEX which does
exactly what you want and is far easier to use and configure?

regarding windows media, is your default folder for ripped files in windows
media the My Music folder? have you tried changing this to another folder
since this is no longer existent? My hunch is that since the program
doesn't find the folder in your hard drive as it is listed in its
configuration it fails to execute as there is no specified folder in which
to place the ripped files. Try going to your recycle bin and restoring the
folder. If you don't want the files in it, delete them and try ripping
again.

Hi there,
I have a question.
I was trying to wrip a CD to my My Music folder using Media Player.
I have Nero, but I don't know how to do it so that it also includes the
information such as the CD title and song titles as well.
Anyway, something went awry and I ended up deleting that folder and wanted
to rewrip the CD. Now, it won't do it any more. Does Windows Media Player
only do a particular CD once, or once that CD has been wripped once, will it
not be wripped again if necessary?

Re: Alternative to total recorder?

2004-11-30 Thread patricknc
Maybe this has already been tried, but if not, why not try sending an email
to both software producers and see if they can come up with anything? It is
possible that they may not even be aware that there's a problem.

 Hi Danielle,
Try setting total recorder back to soundboard, instead of software.

Total recorder will also record from other audio sources as well as the

Total recorder handles this function in a different manner.

 Hi,

Basically, while I have total recorder installed, I can not make any kind
of
call using skype. I can use the instant messaging facility, but every time
I
try to place a call to either another skype user or using skype out, skype
crashes. The only reason that I know this is an issue with total recorder,
is because, every time total recorder is uninstalled, this never ever
 happens.

 Any ideas?

 Danielle

Hi. When on a website, if I click a link for a sound file, the track
begins
to play in Windows Media Player, but I can't find any way of downloading
the
track rather than djust streaming it over the net. Does anyone know how I
can do this? Thanks in advance. Tracey.

I would try using what's on the machine first,
before upgrading, or installing new software.

Hi Allen. You might want to install Windows Media 9 or 10.
