Re: Problem with MPG Files

Hi Bruce. Well that's all right. Thanks for all your help. I really
appreciate it. I'll have to look at all the options, and decide where to
go from there.

RE: How do I erase a cdrw

2005-03-31 Thread Kevin Cussick
Hi Dean,

Thanks for your help on this matter, How ever I can't find any option
for scrubbing the cdrw.

I done a shift f 10 and their is quite a few options but no erase I
phoned the shop that I bought the discs from and they said the discs
need to be formatted.

I wonder if some one could talk me threw how to do this I am using
premier easy cd creator I know you don't have this program dean but
maybe some one does have it on this list.

On that matter their is supposed to be an update to this program with
a copy disc facility on it but it's not available yet as far as I
know.

I do have Nero I think it is version 6.somthing but I did not get on
with the program all that well it's taken me a while to grasp all this
computer stuff but I am getting their at last.

If some one can just talk me threw how to format the cdrw that I have
got I will be a happy man.

Disregarding the Premier burner, since I haven't used it, put your
cdrw in
the drive. Now go to My Computer, arrow to that drive, and hit either
shift-F10 or your application key. Arrow through the resulting menu
and
one of your choices should be Erase CDRW. Try that, and ask if there
are
any complications.

Yes. Essentially you go into preferences in Winamp, go to plugins, output
plugins, and then choose the disk writer plugin. Somewhere there you'll be
asked for a filename. I've never used this plugin as it jsut seems like
too much of a bother. What you then do is run the MPG file, wait for it to
complete, and you should have a wave file of what you've just listened to.
This method requires saving in real-time.

media recorder help

2005-03-31 Thread Joanne
For DJC or anyone who uses Mediarecorder, do you know if it needs to be
reset each time you use it, and if so which button does this? Jaws speaks
several r buttons but wonder if I need to reset it because about every third
or fourth recording the recording keeps going until I actually have to
restart the computer. In other words it may be set from this time to this
time but it wants to keep recording. Also when it has done this constant
recording I have opened one of my players either before or during the
recording to play other files. Does mediarecorder not want winamp or media
player to be in use while it's recording? Winamp's the default for
mediarecorder so thought I could use media player to play something but I
noticed that my last recording was an ongoing one, and during the recording
time I had in fact used media player. Hope someone can help.

Hi Gary,
As someone else has pointed out, you do need the MP3 plug in but I think you
can save about ten MP3 files before you have to make the purchase in order
to continue using the facility.

Don't know about that separate file you mentioned.
Good luck.

Hi all. I'm still having problems with my MPG disk that only plays on
the computer. You can convert MPG to MP3 with Goldwave, but I don't have
Goldwave. I do have Soundforge. Can I convert MPG to MP3 with
Soundforge? And how do I do that? If that's not possible, how do I
convert to WAV, so I can play it on another CD player? I do use a DVD
player, but won't play those files. Should I purchase Nero 6, to get
their DVD burning software? Would burning these MPG files to DVD be the
answer for me?

Re: Problem with MPG Files

2005-03-31 Thread Andrea Sherry
If you have Sound Forge you can open these files from
the file menu. I seem to believe that SF 7 would also extract sound from
.mpg files.
BT SF 8 will definitely do so.
Cheers
Andrea

Subject: Problem with MPG Files

Hi all. I thank everyone who tried to help me with this, but I didn't seem
to get much help. These files that are on this CD that are MPG files are a
challenge.  I don't really want to listen to these stories on the computer;
so I have to find some viable solution. I don't know if I can convert with
Soundforge, or convert to WAV or MP3, or what I can do. Should I use a
trial version of Nero? Or Easy CD Creator? Or Premier CD Creator? Is
there a solution to this that doesn't entail sitting in front of my computer
to listen to these stories. MPG's are video files. Maybe I'll have to make
a DVD to play on my DVD player, where I eventually want to play these files.
I can play DVD's, naturally, on it; I can play MP3's on it, but I can't play
those MPG files on it, unless maybe some sighted assistance can help me get
round this problem. Please, I would like some real solutions. Pardon my
rant, folks.

2005-03-31 Thread Gary Wood
Hi Bruce. I'll try that Soundforge solution, and get back to the list; but
how can I get that disk-writer plug-in. Is it a part of the Winamp 5.08
program? Thanks, again. I really do appreciate all your help.

With all due respect, you have been offered some real solutions. You don't
want to use a trial version of Gold Wave, you haven't given us the results
of trying to open the files in Sound Forge, the idea of using Winamp to
convert them to wave files doesn't seem to interest you, what do you want
from us?

Re: Problem with MPG Files

2005-03-31 Thread Gary Wood
Hi Bruce. I'm sorry if my tone sounded severe in my last email. I really
do appreciate all your suggestions. I just have to figure out which ones I
might want to apply. Goldwave sounds like a great program, but I got
Soundforge a few years ago for $99.00. At that time, it was a bargain,
since it usually costs around $500. Is the Winamp plug-in, you've been
talking about come with the program? Again, I apologize for the tone in my
last post, but I went to the Nero website to download a trial version of
that, but I couldn't find a place where I can do that. Probably compared to
most of you, I'm probably a novice at this stuff. Like I said before, it's
probably a matter of which solution I might want to try implementing. -

Interresting demo.

2005-03-31 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
I just tried out the demo of the noise reduction 2.0 for and with sound forge
8.0 demo.
I thought that this should work without any problems.
But when i listen to the file i noise reduced ther only were beeps evry 5-th
second or so and no noise reduction was made.
So i am not that impressed of this tool at all as it did not function in demo
mode.
You have to buy it, and why should i buy something i did'nt know something
about.
/Anders.
