Well I still have Nero 5.5, so I only know that someone said that it's the most accessible version of Nero. I have Version 6 now, and so far as I can judge, it's very accessible, in the sense that Jaws readily speaks all the controls and such. Personally, I wouldn't mind if you didn't have to tab around and guess the order in which you do certain things, and figure out which tab or page you're on, but when someone creates a blind friendly program that ameliorates *that* kind of problem, wel, I'll switch political parties. or something like that. . - Original Message - From: Gary Wood [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. I can tell you one vendor I've learned about that still sells the program, even though it's been supplanted by a new version that Roxio now calls *Media* Creator. and that's at staples.com, the office supply company. They have a search function on their site, so you just type something like Roxio Easy CD/DVD into the edit box, press the Go or Search Now button, and you'll find it. It's only $29.95, which is a hole lot cheaper than the new version, and you'll find as much familiarity with it and discussion of it online as for any of the similar programs you've seen mentioned. Plenty of people to talk to about how to use it. I don't know how to find out whether your CD-ROM drive is appropriate with Easy CD/DVD Creator. Hopefully someone else here can fill you in. I don't think it's a big, esoteric challenge, but others can help you figure this out. Hope this helps, Daniel Original Message - From: shannon [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Re: etree
Hello, ETree is very good. I'm an active member, and provided you are willing to mail out packages and trade live shows with people, this works out well. My personal list is at http://db.etree.org/kb2rza to give you an example, but this isn't the only show listing format. There are a few other ways to display your listings of shows. You can browse existing database entries, but I've found that when you're trying to add a show not currently in the master database, that Internet Explorer comes up with a blank page after you enter the show details, and the show isn't entered. Since people on this list might have trouble mailing out packages, due to waiting on others to address and send out packages, you may need to ask for a little more time, and give a time frame, or require a self-addressed stamped envelope. Or, you could do ETrades, which would be an exchange of files through ftp sites, which you or the trading party might have. The file formats often used are .shn files. All of the tools needed are usually found on the ETree website. This site frowns on mp3 sourced shows, so this is lossless trading. If you store shows on your hard disc, they can take up plenty of space. Another file format is .flak, which is also widely used. If you need help, let me know. If enough people are interested in this live show trading topic, we can continue onlist. It will be on topic if we keep to discussions about the tools used to convert the audio, but once you install them, they are pretty straightforward. Thanks a lot. Matthew Tired of HotMail? I think what he means is what I was talking about, that you have to tab pretty blindly around trying to figure out where you are and what page or program element is related to what other one. I agree that this isn't literally an accessibility issue, because I think of accessibility in the strict sense as just having to do with whether enough controls are labeled so that Jaws can speak them. But ultimately, if you have to teach yourself to use a program by blundering around in the dark with the tab key and guessing a lot about where you are, then it's finally not all that accessible, labels or no labels. It's very nice, a great relief, when someone either writes scripts or documents hotkey operation with instructions, as is given on the jfw lite helpful hints page for some programs. In any case, it's nothing to quibble over. But what is the term lates NB, and what were you meaning to say in that sentence?
