Hi Jerry,

Yes. Exactly. I figure once the R-1 is discontinued, it will eventually be
available on the second-hand market and stores may want to get rid of excess
inventory... :-) Surprised the R-09 is coming in at a lower price than the
R-1.

2006-05-09 Thread Jerry Richer
Darrell! Right now I have the R-1 priced at $370.00 and the R-09
priced at $359.00, includes shipping within the continental United States.
I don't expect the price of the R-1 to drop when the R-09 shows up.
They are supposed to be two different products that might appeal to
different people. Then again I have seen a lot of discussion from people
deciding one over the other. Who knows, maybe the R-1 will just be
discontinued. In my experience, when a newer version of a thing comes out
the older thing is usually taken off the market rather than it's price
lowered. Anything could happen.

41 mb before stopping 2

2006-05-09 Thread blsmass
It does it on many shows, but mostly those which are at least two hours.
However, mostly they are from one station. Your asking that made me
realize that that is one of the common occurrences. It is WUMB FM and
many times it will pick up within a couple of seconds and start again. I
suppose I could set it to record an hour at a time, but that seems like
quite a bit of work putting it together which kind of defeats the
purpose. Thanks for the question, since at least it sets parameters on
it. Kurt

Here's another Soundforge question.

2006-05-09 Thread Jim Noseworthy
Hi Again gang:

I have a very large audio book which I want to divide in to files representing
each chapter. My question is, is there a way to automatically insert markers at
each chapter break without listening to the whole book? There is approximately
2 seconds of silence between chapter breaks. Can SoundForge be configured to
look for these breaks and automatically insert a marker?

Thanks all over the place gang.
