professional sound card.

2006-05-12 Thread Mickal Lopes
Hi all, I plan to buy a pro sound card to connect to my AV Receiver, to play
mp3, dvd's dd and dts, dvd audio etc.
I want to use the spdif connection in passthrough mod to play my dvd's and
dvdaudio, and the analogic connection to play other file typs like mp3, ape,
etc.
I read lot of informations about a good card to make this possible with a good
sound quality, and I found the folowing card's:
esi julia@
esi waveterminal 192m
m-audio audiophile 2496
m-audio audiophile 192.
Know I want to know what of this card's are more accessibles to use with a
screen reader like Jaws?
Mixer, configurations settings, db level etc.
For exemple I need to know exactely the db output of the card to connect to my
av receiver...
When I ajust the volume

Thanks a lot, and excuse my bad english.

Subject: GoldWave Question.

Hi Gang:

Has anyone been able to script JAWS so that one can audibly travel around a
GoldWave work space via the cursor keys and the PageUp-PaGeDown keys as one
can in SoundForge? This is one of the great weaknesses in GoldWave.

I have tried to use the same scripting process used in Soundforge with
relation to the GoldWave View to End option; however, the GoldWave program
itself does not respond well to this scripting technique.

If anyone can shed some light as to how to resolve this problem, I would
appreciate it all over the place.

Thanks gang.

Need Help with MP3Clip

2006-05-12 Thread Kelly Sapergia
Hi,
I have some files I want to join with MP3Clip, but I can't get the
program to do anything. I added the files, then set the MP3 file to be
created, but nothing is happening. I don't see any obvious way of starting
the process, such as a Start button. I even tried setting the MP3 file
first, then adding the files to be joined, but that didn't work either.
What do I have to do next?
Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
Kelly John Sapergia

Have you done recording successfully before? If so, what have you
changed lately? If you haven't already tried it, try a system restore
to a point that you know works. This may or may not help, but it's
somewhere to go until you figure out what you've changed or what may
have changed something without your knowing it.

Re: Job Announcement

2006-05-12 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi
I have just read your email - I'm wondering if you have any experience in
what follows, or any knowledge of scripting or whoever might undertake it.

I'll keep it short. I'm a blind teacher who uses Jaws. Our authority have
changed reporting procedures to a system called Phoenix - it's apparently
nationally used.

I'm scuppered at the moment as it's pretty well inaccessible to Jaws. Does
your firm write or commission writing of scripts? Do you know of anything
that might help with Phoenix (if of course you know of Phoenix)

Any info would be gratefully received.

Thank you.

 Hi folks,

I am running Jaws 7.0 on Windows XP Home, a 3 GHZ processor with 768 MB
 of
DDR Ram. When I go to the Control Panel and open the speech controls, and
 go
to the Text To Speech tab, I cannot select a different default voice for
 the
computer. It is currently set on LH Michael, which I hate almost as much
 as
I hate Microsoft Sam, but I get this error each time I try to select a
 new
 voice and apply my changes.

 RUNDLL
An exception occurred while trying to run
 C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL C:\Program

Does anyone know what the heck that is, and better yet, how I can fix it
 so
I can select a different default voice for my computer?

 Thanks.

Thanks gang.

making Iriver IHP-120 more accessible

2006-05-12 Thread Heewon Chun
Hi, all!

I am a new subscriber of this list serve.

I have Iriver IHP-120. And I heard that rockbox.org offers a firmware that
makes IHP-120 more accessible for blind users. Is that true? If so, which file
should I download for rockbox?

In addition, I am interested in knowing how the firmware can help blind users
operate the Iriver device.

Thanks for your help in advance.
