Re: Help! I Have a Real Goldwave problem!

2007-06-23 Thread Samuel Wilkins
Hmmm, you've got me there. I think the only way I can think of is to try
uninstalling and reinstalling Goldwave. Are you using the latest version? If
not, I suggest you upgrade. If those suggestions don't work, I'm afraid
you'll have to keep resetting it.

Subject: Help! I Have a Real Goldwave problem!

This is extremely annoying! Whenever I shut down my computer, I lose my
auxiliary setting. I always need to open Goldwave to reset it. Does anyone
know where under volume settings I can find something to do with
 auxiliary?
I sincerely hope someone does. I recorded something today and forgot to
check that stupid aux setting; and sure enough, no recording. I don't know
if Goldwave is causing this or what is. In other words, Goldwave will not
record; just hiss, unless I reset the aux setting. I even wrote to the
Goldwave programmer, and he couldn't figure it out. He said I shouldn't
 lose
my settings. So I'm at a loss as to how to solve this annoyance. Help,
 please Thanks ever so much.

A question about Nero 7.9

2007-06-23 Thread Brian Olesen
Hi all,
Well in some ways you could probably call me very conservative.
But when things works nicely why change them?

But this also some times make me lack dramatically when we're talking new
versions of some specific programs like in this case Nero.

How is it with Nero 7? I have a so called Nero 7 Premium with lots and lots
of inaccessible multimedia stuff that I don't want to install.
Is it in any way possible not to install all these media applications, but
only the raw Nero application?

Is there a good frre tutorial about how to setup and use Nero 7 the best
way?

I hope some one can confirm some of these wishes, and guide me in the right
direction?

Best regards
Brian

Re: A question about Nero 7.9

2007-06-23 Thread John Price
Hello Brian,
Instead of letting your computer install Nero, choose to explore it.
In this way, you can pick and choose what parts of the software you really
need.
I just got a new cd drive for one of my computers, it came with Nero 7.5.
I can do some things with Nero that I couldn't with Windows Media Player 10
and 11.
For an example, I can record directly from my vintage stereo receiver.
I could not do that with Windows Media Player.
But anyhow, try exploring Nero first before you install it.
My best regards to you all!

LOL!!! Good point, Bruce. However, I do believe that something is in the
works. Now that laws have become tougher regarding closed captioning, it
should be a little more difficult to explain why we can't have more audio

instead of behaving like jealous children... Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox.

Zen Stone - yet another alternative

2007-06-23 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi
Sorry for double posting but I assume some people might be interested.
There's been a lot about the Zen Stone mp3 player. I saw on qVc UK that they
were doing a 1Gb player for £19 plus PP. It is also a voice recorder and in
the video (available on line) it is claimed that it plays e-books.
Just another alternative to check upon.
http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/params.item.556926/walk.yah.UKEL
That's the link. I don't know how accessible it is but there is a 30 day
returns policy. It also has a graphic equaliser.

progress in getting things done, because our blind population can't agree on
any solutions!

Absolutely there would be copyright issues. Whether people choose to
ignore those copyright issues is their personal choice, but there's no
denying that the copyright issues do exist.

 Hello Roden,

You can download described movies by joining the blind movie

This is not an endorsement; merely pointing out one possible

I disagree with this view. That's just too intrusive for the vast, vast
