2007-12-14 Thread Muhammad Karim
Gary,
I am using Sarah's tutorial with no problem whatsoever. Perhaps you should
try downloading the files onto your computer. Right click the link, arrow
down to "save target as" and save it on your hard drive. Maybe that might
work better for you.

A Question about cdr quality

2007-12-14 Thread Vinny Samarco
Hi Everyone,
Since I am new to cds and audio formats, I have been wondering if there
are significant differences in the quality of blank cds which say they are
for computer use, verses those that say they are for music? There
certainly are price differences, so I was wondering if anyone can actually
here the difference?
Thanks.

Re: looking for a mixer

Have a look at the Behringer UB502 or UB802 which are both under $100 from
various places on the net.

They use 6 mil microphone inputs but you can buy adapter plugs quite
readily.

Radio Shack has some good pocket radios that are digital, and not too
expensive, and as far as accessability it is just a matter of pushing a scan
button up or down the dial. I think that the volume up and down is also a
push button function. . . .

looking for a mixer

2007-12-14 Thread Rick Harmon
Hi everyone,

Looking for a small nice mixer I can use for doing podcasts from my PC. i need
a couple of RCA stereo inputs, a 1/8 stereo / mono microphone input and a RCA
or 1/8 stero output. I've heard that there are USB models out there. Are
these a good way to go? Looking to spend $100 or less and looking for
something pretty easy to use. I don't requier EQ or anything like it as I'll
be feeding the mixer output in to a PC for recording.

Thanks,

Rick

Hi Sarah, did you happen to install the games yesterday from litetech? They
change speaker behavior to "surround sound," which makes lower volume if
you're just using stereo speakers or headphones. I found this out the hard
way when I noticed my sounds from all my files were peculiar sounding, so
went searching, first for restore, and then it dawned on me what to search
for under the "sounds and audio devices" APL in control panel. :) I hope
this helps.

7.0 and it just started yesterday. it also lowers my default sounds as well
and now skype is starting to do it to.
I'm thinking I have a more serious problem.

I get the same problem. I don't know how, but when I start a file, it
lowers my volume. Also, when a contact signs in on MSN Messenger, it also
happens as well. Maybe it's my soundcard? I have a sound blaster live.

wow that's strange. Especially since you're using the direct sound
output plugin. I would try a total uninstall, and reinstall of
winamp, deleting any folders that are left behind after the
uninstall, then reinstalling, to see if that fixes it.

What's a good small AM / FM radio?

2007-12-14 Thread Jerry Richer
Can you recommend a good small AM / FM radio?
I want to carry it with me when I go out in the morning to listen to
the news. It has to have a built-in speaker and of course it needs to be
accessible. Most importantly it needs to be able to pick up a weak signal.
As a point of comparison, the one I'm using right now costs five dollars and
it works well enough for me much of the time. I have to tune it by turning
the tuning dial which I would be glad to get rid of. As I walk the signal
is good, then it fades into white noise, then it comes in a little, then it
comes in clear, then it fades out again. This is an FM station.

Re: Skype question

2007-12-14 Thread Kenneth Washington
I also would love to get my hands on this info. Just got my new
wireless Skype headphones/mic in the mail today and I'm anxious to
start using it.

A list of hotkeys and basic instructions for getting started would be
great. Thanks.
