Yeah and if you get a soundcard you can leave your system sounds turned on
and make them go through the same soundcard as jaws.

Hi George, I totally agree with John, even though an earlier poster
said that an external synth would be a good solution. A USB
soundcard would definitely be a cheeper solution. So I would go that
route if you don't want to be spending $600 or so on an external
synth. Last I looked at the price of a tripple-talk usb, it was
around $600, and a Dectalk USB was about the same.
 Hope this insite helps.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me please? I DJ in pubs and
 clubs and
have recently started playing of a laptop. However, I need to

I can separate the music coming through the system from my JFW screen

Re: Ripping Speeds

2008-01-17 Thread Kulvinder Singh Bhogal
It shouldn't really matter these days what speed you use.

Software is better at handling higher speeds than it used to be in the early
days.

There are people who still swear that using a lower speed is better for
ripping because of accuracy.

Hope this helps.

Hey Guys,
When ripping does it matter if you set your cd rom to rippe at a max of 8x
verses 4x in terms of quality? I am using winamp. I have noticed that when
using 8x, winamp always doesn't rippe at 8x, I notice that it will ripp at
6.9x, 7.6x, or even 5x. When I used 4x though, it seamed that it was always
at around 4x or 3.8x or so. Thanks!

zenstone Scripts What? forZen stone?

2008-01-17 Thread tickpub
Hi, I have the zenstone 1gb and the zenstone+ 2gb, never knew there was a

just download to them as you would any other ddrive. If there is
something else out there then please let me know.
I am having trouble with the zenstone+. So far, I cannot get it to
connect and thus no charge and thus this is a pain. For I live a good
hour from Frys where I bought and if Icannot get it up and running then I
got to return it.
Thanks for the zenstone help, I will try and unplug and rework it, but so
far, it is really a nice unit.
Thanks,

Major winamp problems

2008-01-17 Thread Jed Barton
Hey guys, has anyone had major headaches trying to get winamp to work?
My god, it just never ends. I have winamp 5.08 which honestly seems to be
the most stable.
5.32 just wouldn't install. A lot of the stuff from the program was missing
such as the input and output uner preferences, so I went back to 5.08.
I keep getting an illegal operation every time I exit. It says the
instruction at, and then mentions a bunch of numbers references memory.
And I have to hit the OK button. What versions are people running?
This now makes the 6th time I have uninstalled it. Am I the only one who
has had this issue?
Also, when I get down to skin support, it freaks out when it seems modern
skins. I then have to exit out of it, go back in to preferences, then very
very quickly hit the down arrow button so it bipasses the modern skin, in
the hopes that I miss it. Is it meo or does this modern skin support not
get along with jfw?

Hi Jed,
The modern skin has never been good with screen readers. When you've
uninstalled these various versions of winamp, did you remove
everything in the winamp folder under program files? Usually it'll
leave some files behind in there when you uninstall.
Try uninstalling, totally removing the winamp directory, and re-
installing. i've got 5.51 on my windows pc here, and have no issues
like you're describing at all.
none whatsoever.
Hope this helps you.

RE: B Tracks?

2008-01-17 Thread Cornell Ligon

If you mean instrumentals, you can pretty much locate anywhere. E-Music may
offer a free trial of downloads - I would peruse their selection. Best Regards,

Tracks? Date: Thu, 17 Jan 2008 22:02:37 + hi guys, A couple of friends
of mine are going to do their first live gig this week-end. The only
problem they have at the moment is, they don't have any backing music.
They tried to purchase backing music from the Internet, but it was way too
expensive. They have asked me if I would ask if any list members have some
backing tracks they would be willing to share with them. If they are
successful, then maybe they will be able to return the favour one day. If
anyone can help, please contact me at the email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
will gladly pass on any correspondence. Please except my heart felt thanks

Re: Scripts for the Zen stone?

2008-01-17 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I'm not Albert, but I do have a Zen Stone, and I would highly recommend
it. I have the 1GB Zen Stone, not to be confused with the Zen Stone Plus
or other things from Creative that might have Zen Stone in the name. You
can copy music onto it with Windows Explorer, so there's no issue with
accessible software on your PC. The Zen Stone doesn't have a display, so
there's no issues with it's accessibility at all. I copy overdrive.com
books to it, and it plays them just fine and remembers where I left off.
It's small, which could be a positive or a negative. You recharged the
battery through the USB port, which can be a bit inconvenient. It only
has 1GB, which is plenty for how I use it, but that would be a bit small
for some people. Like I said, I would recommend it strongly!

buying? I have many students ask me about accessable mp3 players and
zenstone is one that AFB recommends in their access world magazine.
 Thanks for any info.

I didn't know there was more than one Zen Stone made by Creative. It's
actually not for the player but for the software provided to assist you in
synching files to it and burning directly to the player.

 Hi,

Which zenstone? And what do the scripts do that you can't do with normal
 windows explorer functions?

Curious, and just trying to help.

adding files to the the unit. thanks

RE: Scripts for the Zen stone?

2008-01-17 Thread albert griffith
I just opened it today and I've just finished charging it. I've heard
people say they don't like it but not due to a lack of accessibility. It
will only save your place in one file is the most often heard complaint.
Remember to make your clients understand that it won't read text files.
I'll let you know tomorrow about what I think.
