Re: can't hear radio 1
Hi Audrey, If you are a JAWS user (it is probably similar with other screen readers): 1. Open the Radio 1 homepage at http://bbc.co.uk/radio1 2. Go to the Listen Live link and press enter. JAWS doesn't make it clear that anything has happened, but some additional links then appear. Two links are: Listen live | RealPlayer Listen Live | Windows Media (UK only) Here in Australia, the RealPlayer stream works, but as stated, the Windows Media stream does not. I've no idea why one can listen with RealPlayer outside the UK, but not with Windows Media player. RE: can't hear radio 1
Hi Audrey. I don't listen to Radio 1 (I've grown up LOL). I have just tried their site and I also couldn't get to listen live. However, I went to their "text only" page and the link was there and it worked fine. I think the problem in part is the BBC are using a new player (I player) They did use real player at one point but it seems each time I visit a BBC site (usually world service or radio 4 or 5) it is usually the I player they say is being used. Hope this is of some help. Quick and easy song release data?
I was given a large stack of 45RPM records by a friend who wanted them transferred to CD for her brother's 60th birthday. I thought it would be fun to include the disc's release date on the CE's Table of Contents. Is there a Website that makes look-up like this fast? I've been GOOGLing and wading through Wikipedia, and would like something a bit less labor-intensive. TIA --- Dale E. Re: Streaming Clear Channel Stations
Hi Don, Thanks for this. Hidemyip.com have a free trial. If you are outside the US: 1. Launch Internet Explorer. 2. Go to Tools, Internet Options. 3. Ctrl+tab to the Connections tab. 4. Press space on Local Area Network Settings. 5. Check the use a proxy server checkbox. 6. Set the Proxy Server Address to us.pickaproxy.com and the Proxy Server Port to 8125. 7. Press enter on OK, then again on the next OK, to close. 8. Close and restart Internet Explorer (I'm not sure if this step is absolutely necessary). 9. Open www.939online.com/cc-common/streaming_new/index.html?refreshed=yes It Worked for me, but as a trial, you only have a limited time. I didn't find the pricing on their service. A disclaimer, however. I have not used this program but have heard from reliable sources that it works, although I do not know the cost. One other thing. In terms of accessibility, their web site stinks. I just went there, and there were quite a few unlabeled buttons. Re: trying to listen to this station
I am sorry to be so stupid, but I just followed the link that was provided, and I got some music. I left it there for a couple of minutes, which might not have been long enough to try it properly. I don't know why it worked, and unfortunately, I deleted the link. It was too early in the morning for the brain to work properly. I'll do a google, and maybe something will useful will result Cris Hall - Original Message - From: "Larry Naessens" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Saturday, May 31, 2008 9:15 AM Subject: Re: trying to listen to this station > Really? S. If you have had occasion to attempt to stream a Clear Channel station but found it impossible, where you live might be the reason why. Clear Channel blocks non U. S. residents from listening to all of their streams including HD2 stations. To my knowledge, they are the only radio station streaming company who impose this restriction. If you notice "CC Tuner as part of the stream's url and you live outside the States, you will be excluded. Needless to say, I am not a big Clear Channel fan.
