Some Live365 streams are encoded with the MP3Pro technology. This allows
 a
MP3 stream to sound about as good as a stream double its bitrate. there
 is
a couple of different MP3Pro encoders that can be lugged into Winamp. I
chose one with no bugs or reported problems and my Live365 streams sound
great. I get all the control and flexibility with Winamp with all the
sound enhancement of the Live365 player.

 Hi Guys
I have a subscription to live 365, partly because some of the
subscription fee goes to help pay the royalties. They claim that the
 live
365 player has better quality than the other players because it will play
some types of files that Winamp will not play. First, does anyone know
 if
this is true? Second, if it is true, are there any scripts for the
 player?
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer this question.

It can be done with GoldWave.
I just finished doing it.

Hmm, I'm not sure it's that simple. I don't really know though! I did go
to Wikipedia, and on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVI I found the
following statement An AVI file may carry audio/visual data inside the
chunks in virtually any compression scheme, including MP3 wasn't
listed, but it may be included in one of the schemes listed.

 It would seem that way.

Unfortunately, I don't know. So the AVI file format embeds an MP3 file
 in it for the audio?

 Timothy wrote:

I would like to get clarifification on this. GoldWave converts the .avi
 file
into mp3. Correct? Replay Converter and Switch gets the actual audio
 file
 from the .avi file?

The reason I'm asking this, is because I'd like a program to get the
 audio
file from the video file without converting it. An example of this
 would
 be
Elecard XMuxer Pro. Unfortunately, it is not accessible in my case.

I use two different programs which can take you directly from an AVI
(and several other audio and video formats) directly to an MP3 (or
several other audio and video formats). They're both very easy to use
and totally accessible with JAWS, and I would assume any other screen
 reader.

The first is Replay Converter at
 http://www.applian.com/replay-converter/index.php. It's simple to use
and can take you directly from an AVI to an MP3. It is not free.

The other program I use is Switch Sound File converter from
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/. It comes with a full functional trial
which lasts for 21 days (I think.) and then it becomes a free program
with some limitations. Even with the limitations, it can still strip
 the
audio from a AVI file and give you an MP3. Of course, you can
 purchase
this program to keep the limitations from kicking in after the trial.

I'm not sure what the current cost of either program is, but I'm sure
you can get that from their web sites.

you could also use the winamp disc writer plugin as well

One way to do it is to load the file into Gold Wave and then save
 as
 an
MP3. I'm sure other programs will do it too.
