WMKV's Computer Talk: Was RE: Addendum To My Request For Help With WMKV Podcast On ITunes

2008-12-11 Thread Pam Drake
-Mike

Yes indeed, there are many who might like this show. It was started as
a non-threatening computer forum for seniors, and has developed to the
point where the word "Senior" has been omitted from the title. They
cover just about everything under the sun in computer technology, and
they are always interested in access issues.

I may have to subscribe, and just keep watch on my hard drive.

I've also asked the ITunes users on SAMobile, and so far I haven't
gotten any responses so perhaps getting individual podcasts is just that
much of an issue. In fact, I did subscribe, then unsubscribed. I will
re-subscribe and see if perhaps the individual shows are more visible
then. There are a few I don't get to hear; and I may have even been
subscribed when I listened to the couple of shows I did hear.

Btw, we took a side trip to Reading and met three of the regular hosts,
John, Tom, and Detective Dave Ausdenmoore . We had lunch with them
and found them to be as friendly and fun in person. They're all
volunteers at this radio station operated by a senior citizen's
community.
Thanks.

Pam

INeed Some Help With ITunes

Pam

Several individuals on the WE support list have brought up the
difficulties they have had in obtaining specific given episodes of a
Itunes podcast subscription.
No one, to this point, has offered a workable perfect solution -- it is
hit and miss.
What I would suggest doing -- and this is what I have done -- is to
subscribe to Computer Talk's podcast even though I may listen to the
show live upon occasion.

The best solution would beif you could use another podcatcher, but, in
this instance, iTunes is the only way to grab this particular show.

It's a really neat show, incidentally folks, and worth a listen from 1
to
2 pm Eastern Tuesdays on WMKV Reading, OH (suburban Cincinnati) which
can be found through a number of radio station streaming databases.

Installed Real Alternative 1.7.5 with JAWS 10. Whenever I play a .rm file
that's on my hard drive I hear the counter announced to me like:
The file is say 1 minute and 7 seconds long. So when I play this .rm file I
hear every other second the counter progress like:
:02 - 1:07
:04 - 1:07
:06 - 1:07

I did go to configuration manager, set options and turned off the progress
bar but this did not work here.

Any ideas on how to eliminate the counter announcement?

Auto splitting of audio files (goldwav or another program)

2008-12-11 Thread Jason Boston
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good freeware program that will automatically
split audio files into equal parts? I like the option of by time or
number of parts. I have goldwav, but I see no way to have goldwav mark
the file into equal parts and then split into individual files. I know I
can manually mark the points in which to split, but I have several files
I wish to split into about 100 parts and don't want to manually mark all
of those.

Thanks,
Jason

I thought the below link might be of interest to anyone using iTunes for

provide any help with information provided in the article.

Peter

They are stored in the file

schedule8.dat

schedule8.dat

which is located in your program file where Replay AV sits.
Copy that file as you would any other.
It's a good idea to keep several copies of schedule8.dat handy in case you
evver make an error.
They have "saved my butt" on numerous occasions.

Hi. Just so you know John, album is spelled a l b u m.
It's not one of those words that sounds obvious when it's heard spoken
quickly. But yeah, Winamp allows you to change the tag info with alt 3,
I'm not sure if Windows media has an equivilant but I'm almost certain it
does.

At 09:56 AM 12/10/2008, you wrote:

Hello Marvin,
If you know the name of the tracks, you can rename them yourself.
All you have to do is, have your curser pointing to the file.
Then hit your applications key, scroll up to properties.
Tab over to artist name or something like that, and just type in the name
of the artist and hit inter on it.
If you scroll up, you will find the field where the alvem title goes, just
type it in if you know it and hit inter.

This is what you will really see altogether.
At the top, alvem title, artist title,"jonra" if I'm spelling this one
right.

Year and so on.
Tab over to the ok button and hit space bar or inter on it, and you're all
sat!
I hope this helps you with the first part of your question, I only wish I
had an answer for the other part of your question.

I am sorry that I don't.
