Re: .wv files?
Actually, what I think I'll do is first convert these .wv files to .flac files, using Easy CDDA Extractor. Then use Goldwave to chop them up into individual tracks -- they seem to be full-CD single file recordings. Later, I'll get around to installing the .wv plug-in for Winamp, just so I'll have it available for future use. Thanks, again. RE: PTP1 and the Victor Stream query.
Hi all I have an idea that perhaps the two units aim at slightly different segments of the market perhaps? Talthough the xtreme is perhaps better at polaying music for example, the ptr seems to be much more geared towards making good quality recordings. So it will perhaps depend on what you would like your unit to do? -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Gary Schindler Sent: 05 January 2009 10:53 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: PTP1 and the Victor Stream query. I don't think you can get the plug-in now. Re: WavPack compression and Decompression?
I'm not a WavPack user, so I'm just going on what I see on the web pages, but maybe Speek's Frontend from http://www.wavpack.com/links.html is what you're looking for. Other than that, the command line utility may have what you want. I'm thinking of WavPack Win32 from http://www.wavpack.com/downloads.html. Finally, I would assume that if you had the plugin for Winamp or used a program that supported WavPack natively, such as Foobar2000, Jet Audio, ..., then you could just use that program as you normally would to create WavPacfk audio files. I'm not sure if that's going to help or not, but if not, I hope someone else will weigh in and help you out. Dana S. Re: WavPack compression and Decompression?
Christopher, All I was really looking for was a simple way to convert files, back and forth, from .wav or .flac, and .wv. I now see that I can do this with Easy CDDA Extractor's conversion component, which I already own and love. And, as I have installed the plug-in for Winamp, that gives me a way to play files that are in the .wv format. So, it seems, that resolves my issues. Thank you for your suggestions, nevertheless.
