ripping audio from dvd's: which package is better

2009-01-25 Thread dean martineau
I will sometimes want to take audio from dvd's and convert it to mp3. I
imagine most of the dvd's whose content will interest me will be
unprotected, but maybe I'll want to save the audio from some movie sometime.
I already have Replay Converter, which does some of this, but only with
unprotected dvd's. Dvd Audio Extractor is easy to use, and I could buy it
if need be. But I'd like to know if it will convert more dvd's than Replay
Converter will, or if the two have pretty similar capability.

Thanks.

Dean

Hi Dean,
DVD Audio Extractor works great, but I don't know if it will do more than
replay, because I've never used it.

Sky Player

2009-01-25 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi
I asked before but the player was new then. I'm wondering if anyone's found
their way through the Sky Player which purports to play sky channels you may be
subscribed to on your home computer. It also has a large back selection of
programs you may have missed.
I signed up (getting through the password graphic stage with sighted help)
After this I can see much to play but although I'm logged in most of it seems
to be chargeable. It doesn't seem too clear as to why it's not quite as simple
as the BBC one, just click on download etc.
I did manage to get a sky news clip play and it worked fine, although there's
no idea yet of keyboard shortcuts to navigate the file.
It does seem accessible, but finding something to watch at present is
difficult, as far as I can see.
One other problem is that when I go to the watch live TV page to see the
channels Internet Explorer gives me the 'Don't Send' button.
Hopefully someone else may have gone this way before and advise us of a clear
path.
Regards.

you can go to

and you can purchase it from there
you can play audio books with the plex talk as well, in mp3 format and they
do not have to be daisy compatable either and the new firmware should give
