Re: Splitting a File into Tracks with MP3 Direct Cut

Yes. Use B to set beginning, and n to set end of sollection. Use CTRL+E to
save the current sellection. To refine your selection, press 1 and 2 to move
the beginning mark back and forth, and 3 and 4 to move the end sellection.
For other commands, use the manual.

Is there a way I can use MP3 direct cut either to manually or
automatically split an album file into tracks?

You can manually split the file into tracks, going track by track. Press
B at the beginning of the track and then press N at the end of the track.
Press CTRL+E to save this selected track to a new file. You do this for
each track and you will have a separate MP3 file for each track.

Winamp Question

2009-09-15 Thread Ketan Kothari
Hi friends,

I have installed winamp 5.56 and whenever I click on any file winamp opens but
it is quiet, that is, it does not play. But when I press X I hear the
introductory winamp DJ Mike. How do I play my files? Help will be
appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Winamp Question

I installed this very same version of Winamp just a couple of weeks ago.
Before going any further, did you follow the JFW installation instructions
from within the jaws help files under the topic of Winamp? I'm thinking you
did not associate any files to be played with Winamp. The important step is
to use right arrow to expand the list of file extensions to be played by
Winamp. Also try the obvious such as closing winamp then going to an MP3
file and pressing enter. Write back and we'll go from here.

2009-09-15 Thread Bruce Toews
If Winamp is opening, it's clearly not a file associations issue,
otherwise Winamp would not open. My guess is that your sound has been
muted at some point. If you're using JAWS, try alt+control+slash to set
your volume to 100%. I'm not sure what the equivalent command is with
other screen readers' scripts.

Sorry, instead of saying your sounds have been muted, I should say your
Winamp volume has likely been turned down.

You can manually split the file into tracks, going track by track. Press
B at the beginning of the track and then press N at the end of the track.
Press CTRL+E to save this selected track to a new file. You do this for
each track and you will have a separate MP3 file for each track.

Question: Winamp and Jaws - How can I stop Jaws announcing every track?

2009-09-15 Thread Alexandra GrĂ¼nauer

Hi all,

I hope that this isn't off toppic. If so, I'm sorry.

I'm using Jaws 8.0 and Winamp 5.24 with either windows xp home or xp pro and
it works fine on all my machines. On a newly set up computer I installed the
same configuration, but on this computer Jaws keeps announcing every track
while Winamp is playing. It doesn't matter which window I'm in. Have I
forgotten to configure something or can this be a problem whith this special
computer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alex
