PC TV Tuner Cards compatible with Nero Liquid TV

2009-09-27 Thread JardataMailServices
Hello List!

I have Nero Liquid TV on my system and am thinking of getting their TVO system
later; however, in the meantime, I would like to get a TV Tuner card, usb, for
my old windows xp Sony Media Center computer. Could someone out there give me
a few examples of good accessible external pc tv tuner cards.

Thanks

Re: Voices for Rock Box

2009-09-27 Thread Roger Stewart
Thank you very much for that link! Took me to the correct page and I
got the voice file! Now just hope it works!! They had me in a loop
between Extras and Daily Builds pages and neither one of these had the
voice files. Can't use the install utility as it doesn't seem to be
able to recognize my Archos Recorder at all. Again many thanks! Have
bookmarked that link for future use!

I'm not sure where you're looking, but I just followed the links from the
Rockbox 3.4 announcement, and I see the links to Rockbox for the different
supported players, manuals in PDF format and English voice files. I just
upgraded by Sansa to Rockbox 3.4 the other day, and I didn't have any
trouble finding anything, including the English voice files. The direct URL
is http://www.rockbox.org/download/byhand.cgi.

Can someone please tell me how to get the voice files for Rock Box and make
it talk? With some sighted help I was able to get the right version of Rock
Box for my Archos Jukebox but when I tried to find the English voice files
on their site they don't seem to be there--at least they're not where the
links point you. Hope someone can help.

Ipod Nano and Windows Explorer

2009-09-27 Thread Kristeen Hughes
I have a 16-gig Ipod nano and I hate Itunes! I have heard references to
another way to get music or files on the Ipod, but no one has ever

Apple would be winning more interest and support were it to get

I'm not an iTunes user, but I was disappointed to see the accessibility

iTunes

Store in iTunes 9 will require an update for iTunes and Window-Eyes. I
haven't heard what's required for JFW and Screen Access. I'm glad Apple is
working with the screen reader venders to get this fixed, but given how
much
Apple has done with accessibility lately, it would be nice if
accessibility
were part of their day zero release. I'm not sure what features there are
in
iTunes 9 that would have them rush it out without getting the
accessibility

right.

Lynn and all, just to show my ignorance on all things ITunes, but what's
the

purpose of ITunes these days if Apple has abandoned DRM? I thought the
reason for it's existence was to handle DRM as much as anything else.

As for the JFW question, it's only a matter of time before JAWS will work
with the latest ITunes and GW Micro says it is working with Apple to sort
out the ITunes store issues in version 9 of the software. this is bound
to
benefit JFW users and others too. System Access claims to work with
ITunes

9 propperly, or at least better, right now.

RE: Ipod Nano and Windows Explorer

2009-09-27 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I don't have an iPod, but on the Winamp.com web site it says the following:

Sync Your iPodR (or other portable player) with Winamp

You love Winamp and have an iPodR and don't think they will work together?
Think again. Winamp 5.5 includes iPodR syncing support with album art view.
To sync Winamp and your iPodR (or other portable media player) launch the
Media Library and check out the 'Portables' tab. You should see your iPodR
or other device (provided you've plugged it into your computer!). Check the
iPod Video Tutorial now!

Re: PC TV Tuner Cards compatible with Nero Liquid TV

2009-09-27 Thread Kristeen Hughes
Is Nero Liquid TV accessible with Jaws? I installed it on my computer
because I have an internal tv tuner card and Windows Media Center, which
isn't very Jaws-friendly, is broken. I couldn't get Liquid TV to say
anything to me. In fact, I was thinking of asking if anyone knew of a good
tv tuner card (internal) and software that would run it and be a bit more
user-friendly.
