Subject: Digital Recorders

Hi!

I haven't been following this thread till now so please excuse me if
what I'm about to say has already been mentioned.

If you by chance own an Iphone or New Ipod Touch then you already have a
digital recorder right there in the palm of your hand, the Iphone has a
built-in microphone but you can purchase a stereo microphone according
to the Iphone User guide and that's where the fun starts and the Iphone
becomes even more amazing than you already thought and knew it to be

The Iphone comes with a "Voice Memo" recorder which does what it was
designed to do well so let's take the art of recording to a whole new
level on a mobile device with Voxie Recorder Pro for $2.50 Australian
from the Itunes Store, connect your stereo mic and you're away recording
at a maximum sampling rate of44.1KHZ stereo if that's what you need.

Voxie Recorder Pro has many settings and features including "Express"
mode, shake the Iphone to start and stop recording, you hear a tone from
the phone when recording starts or stops. If you want to use the
software for just voice recordings then take advantage of the
transcription services offered by the software.

Recorded something and you wish to transfer it to your computer or
computers via your network or via the Internet through the world? No
problem, "record and share" With Voxie Recorder Pro.

Still finding out mroe about this software as I play with it more.

Cheers

Accessing Sound Taxi

2009-12-22 Thread Samuel Wilkins
Hello there. I am having problems trying to access Sound Taxi Media suite.
When I enter it, it asks if I want to convert DRM files, copy DVD's or
something like that. However, when I press enter, it goes out. How do I
access sound Taxi? I am using Window-Eyes 7.11

At first I was double clicking the one I wanted. I later learned that you
really don't need the media suite to access sound taxi.
Unfortunately, I cannot recall what I did to get rid of it. Unless, I
uninstalled the media suite because I can no longer find it on my computer.

I'm starting from ground zero insofar as this kind of thing is concerned.
At some point, I would like to put some of my records and cassettes onto
the
PC and I'd also like to be able to manipulate the recordings I've got on
my
dm520; I'm sure there are other audio tasks, oh yes, ripping cd's to a
more

useable format as well.

I'm thinking if I got both Goldwave and Total Recorder I should be set.

Is this correct or will both of them do the same thing; I do not wish to
be

redundant.

Thoughts are appreciated.

Verizon with Mobile Speak

2009-12-22 Thread Scott Blanks
Hi all,

Are there any phones available on the Verizon network, which will support both
Mobile Speak and Mobile Geo, the GPS solution? Is there a page where I can go
to determine which phones support Mobile Speak and are available on Verizon?

Thanks,
Scott

hi, I just picked up the samsung Saga which has both a touch
screen and qrty keyboard. verizon charges $29 per month for the
open gps link, 10 for the internet and an extra $10 for the
texting. Currently, according to verizon tech support, that is
the only phone that will work. I going off to get a guide dog in
new jersey so i want the gps.

Hope this helps. Dan

SV: GOM Player Audio Capture

2009-12-22 Thread Anders Holmberg
HellO!
I haven't had any better luck with it.
Foobar2000 can capture audio with a great result as far as i can tell.
Though it doesn't have any audio capture feature, you have to use the
converter to do it.
Blessings!
A/nders.

Has anyone used this feature in GOM Player? I can tab through and hit the
start button but that screen stays up. I have to close it to go back to the
player to play the stream. And when I tried that I heard nothing. There is a

forum which I can't figure out on the web site but no help files that I know

of.

Thanks for any help,

NLS digital player and multiple books

2009-12-22 Thread Joe
Thanks for that info on playing multiple books on the new digital player. How
did you ever find out how to do that. Also how did you find the link to the
firmware update or even the fact it was possible to do an update. Just
interested. I'd like to be on the inside track for this kind of thing too. These
players are great and the sound is amazing. They actually sound five times
bigger than they are. I don't know how they get that base response with such a
small speaker. Thanks again, Joe.
