Re: Bookmarks in Winamp question

2010-03-04 Thread DJ DOCTOR P

High Vicky,
I never could get that key combo to work for me in any version of Winamp.
What I had to do to bookmark a radio/TV station, is play the stream.
While it's playing, I would pull up the bookmark menu.
Then I would scroll down to where it says, "add currant bookmark" and press
inter on it.

And the bookmark is added!
Hope this helps.
My best regards.
 John.

I asked this question to the Winamp list the other day and there didn't
seem

to be a solution, so I thought I'd try here.
I'm using the latest version of Winamp with Vista. I'm having two
problems.

1. When I add a bookmark using the shortcut key Alt I, it says the
bookmark

is
added, but no bookmark is ever added.

2. I have placed my winamp.bm file into my winamp folder and no bookmarks
show
up. On my netbook with XP the BM file was added fine.

Re: Bookmarks in Winamp question

2010-03-04 Thread Sunshine
Ok, you need to do alt control b as in book mark
the book mark file will go in your user folder where your user folder if
it has your name on it then ap data and then winamp.
this is cause the newest versions of winamp moved the book mark file to this
location in xp it is the same owner {your name if appical} apiclation data,
winamp
also alt control b is the new winamp short cut key to ad a book marked
station.

I didn't change the port it uses, I just started getting the broken
audio once I forwarded that port for Fideliphone, but another thing it
likes to do is turn your mic up to 100 percent. For me, I'm well into
distortion by then. I think the server chooses the port when you set up

where the actual audio goes.

Hi!

Looking for another VOIP solution? Considered using your computer
instead of a VOIP box, phone or adapter? Then consider the Express
Talk software, a free version is available which won't do much so
I'd recommend the purchase of the business version and now is the
ideal time to purchase with the product heavily discounted, you'll
save over 40% on the regular price so the product will cost around
$30.00 which in my view - given what Express Talk has to offer -
is a real bargain.

Set up to 4 lines so 4 different VOIP providers or set the lines
to 1 VOIP provider if that provider supports more than one line.
Select your desired audio inputs and outputs, great if you want to
work with headsets. Put calls on hold or record them for added
flexibility when taking down notes and so on, note that recording
a call without the concept of the caller is unlawful, total
control over audio band width and I can tell you this makes a huge
difference to the audio quality of calls.

Heaps of other stuff included too! haven't got around to checking
all of it out yet.

A version is available for Windows and for Windows Mobile by the
looks of things, no version for Iphone which is a shame so you'll
have to make do with the excellent Fring app if you want access to
your VOIP providers on your Iphone wherever you are.

Subject: Express Talk

Hi!

Looking for another VOIP solution? Considered using your computer
instead of a VOIP box, phone or adapter? Then consider the Express
Talk software, a free version is available which won't do much so I'd
recommend the purchase of the business version and now is the ideal
time to purchase with the product heavily discounted, you'll save
over 40% on the regular price so the product will cost around $30.00
which in my view - given what Express Talk has to offer - is a real
bargain.

Set up to 4 lines so 4 different VOIP providers or set the lines to 1
VOIP provider if that provider supports more than one line. Select
your desired audio inputs and outputs, great if you want to work with
headsets. Put calls on hold or record them for added flexibility when
taking down notes and so on, note that recording a call without the
concept of the caller is unlawful, total control over audio band
width and I can tell you this makes a huge difference to the audio
quality of calls.

Heaps of other stuff included too! haven't got around to checking all
of it out yet.

A version is available for Windows and for Windows Mobile by the
looks of things, no version for Iphone which is a shame so you'll
have to make do with the excellent Fring app if you want access to
your VOIP providers on your Iphone wherever you are.

RE: auto tunes

2010-03-04 Thread Jonathan Mosen
It appears from the Autotune site that the latest version doesn't work with
Sound Forge. Does anyone know of a similar plug-in that does?

Re: .pls FILEs WON'T Play

2010-03-04 Thread Colin r . Howard
Greetings,

robert, correct, there are limits to free accounts though, you have the
minimum service of file size max 300mb, deleted after seven days (unless
massive number of downloads in a short time) and no file management is
possible, files may only be sent to the main folder.

with a max account (which I have) files remain long as you wish (or the
account is active) and there are plenty of file management facilities
available.

Free account users have limited use of the SendSpace wizard, if you pay, all
facilities in the wizard become available.

you do not have to register to send anything on sendspace

Hello Chris,
With Send Space, you have to register to open an account with them.
The problem with that is, I can't find the link to do that on that
website.

Other wise, I'd send her the .wav file.
Is there another solution to this problem?
 John.

Sorry John, but I guess I'm not going to be able to help. I'm not sure
what you mean by load it into a PLS file. My understanding is that a PLS
file is just a list of songs. If that list consists of streams, URL's to
songs on the internet, then you would be able to play them as would your
friend or the radio station. If the songs our on your PC then no one else
will be able to play that PLS file.

Another option to send your friend a file might be a service like
SendSpace at http://www.sendspace.com/.

The .MP3 file, is 9.95-mb.

The zipped file, was 9.92-mb.
So the only way I knew I could send it to her, is to load it in to a
.pls file.
But funny how it doesn't work, because, the radio station that I work
for, sends me .pls files all the time.

I don't have half the songs they send me in those play list.wpl files.
But yet, they play for me.
Sometimes, I will put together a play list.wpl and send it to them too
as well, they don't have any problems playing them either.

So what is my friend missing here?
 John.

A PLS is a play list, so for your friend to be able to play it then for
each song in the play list, they'd have to have the same song on their
PC that you have on your PC and it would have to be in the same
location on their PC that it is on your PC, unless every entry in the
PLS file is a URL to a stream. It also looks like WMP needs a codex in
order to recognize and play PLS files. I'm no expert on PLS files, I
just know what I read at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PLS_%28file_format%29. Maybe someone else
with more experience can weigh in if this doesn't help.
