re: Very urgent help with GoldWave
you need to go to the unbound mode hit the configuration menu f11 and set this up. Good luck. Dan - Original Message - From: chris hallsworth Hello all, Please can you help me urgently? I need answers by Monday at the very latest. The other night I was doing a recording of a JAWS Tandem session as part of my project. I use the latest GoldWave (5.55), running in trial mode, and my system is running Windows 7 Starter. The recording appeared to have went well, but now I've gone and played back the file, it's only 26 seconds in long, instead of say 15 to 20 minutes! So what do I need to do in GoldWave to make a more decent recording? This is sure frustrating as I hoped the recording went well, only to find out it got ruined somehow. The reason why I would like ansers soon please is that my deadline for my project is this coming Tuesday. This is part of my finals at university. So all help will be very welcome indeed. Thank you very much. Take care. Hi, I don't think that there is a mailing list dedicated to station playlist with Jaws. I'ven't found tutorials, but the help contains some basic guides for creating, for example, the first playlist. If you want you can contact me via msn at i...@marioloreti.it and I'll try to answer to your questions. boom box accessibility
hi. using a jvc portable cd unit with mp3 player. now it has push buttons controls, for play, forward, rewind, repeat. now had burned cds up until now. now purchased a cleaning kit and for my cd drive and rewriteable cds. now the model number is rc-ez53h i tried searching on google. for a manaul. but could not seem to find any thing at all. now if i decide to burn my tracks to mp3, now it has a mp3 media player. so my question is, can i use the push buttons controls while play back on the mp3 player, or do i have to use the program. which i do not think is accessible. any ideas. might have got a printed manaul, but not sure, maybe only instructions. got no cds, or any thing else with the unit. i use this to listen to cds and convrted mp3 to cda format. but want to get more then 20 tracks, to burn as a data disk and to all mp3s. any of you guys who use these boom boxes, let me know. about the accessibility of the media player. as use this while exercising on the treadmill. marvin. Re: Digital recording software
Good evening Johnny and List. I commend you to try Goldwave as a sound recorder and editing package. The program is downloadable as a demo from http://www.goldwave.com/ This will enable you to experiment pretty thoroughly with the software before you make a decision as to whether to buy it. It will give you about 3 thousand keystrokes before you are prompted to buy the licensed copy or to uninstall the demo version. When I purchased Goldwave several months ago I paid $49 US which I regard as a very good value for its abundance of sound editing and reprocessing features. As for the learning curve, I had no prior experience in producing digital audio before acquiring and learning Goldwave which is very speech friendly with JAWS. For even better JAWS interface I also commend you to get and install the Goldwave JAWS scripts developed by Jim Grimsby. They are free and easily installed by simply copying the 18 files into the JAWS settings folder. The scripts come in a zip file. The Lame MP3 encoder is also available on the Goldwave web site and will be needed if you want to record in or change your sampling rate to 44.1 KHz, the sampling rate required to enable production of an audio CD if you wish to do this. Lastly, I have experienced the Goldwave help file to be very easily navigable and easy to use as a learning resource. If you use other screen readers such as Window-Eyes or SAM or NVDA I must defer to those experienced users. Have fun with the brave world of audio production, whatever audio package you decide to get. Best regards Rob Tabor - Original Message - From: "Johnny Angel!" Strange Windows Media Thing
Hello List: Have had something strange happen recently..and it's happened twice: there was a station I wanted to hear that uses Windows Media to stream their audio. When I decided I had listened as long as I wanted, I hit my "alt-F4 to stop the stream and close out Windows Media. Well now..while Windows Media seemed to go away, the stream did not! I was back on my desk top..and found myself looking around to find how to get to the stream to stop it..but could not! This happened again with a different station that also uses "Windows Media" to stream their audio; same experience: when I went to close it out, the stream kept on going..although Windows Media was gone! The only way to stop it (as far as I could tell)..is to restart the computer! Can somebody please tell me what is happening here? I'm using Jaws 11, running Windows XP Home with Service pack 3; the sound card is an Audigy 2 (think I'm right on this)..hopefully I have provided enough information to you so you can figure out what is going on here! It's very strange when you know (or at least you _think_ you know that you have closed out the player..but the stream plays on..with no way to stop it! Hi John, You need to download and install the VIP Communicator software available from www.vipconduit.com to take part in this discussion. Also had this problem sometimes. What I usually do is to restart windows media player and shut it down again. Re: Strange Windows Media Thing
Hello André and list: Yeah..that sounds like a plan! As far as using something other than Windows Media is concerned..sometimes you really don't have a choice..especially if you're looking to hear a station and you have no way of knowing what stream they use! But I'll try restarting Windows Media; then closing it out..and will see what happens! Thanks for the suggestion!
