Re: screen-reader friendly MP3 playlist editors

2010-11-15 Thread Steve Pattison
Hi Ray,

It might be worth trying Winamp to manage and edit playlists. I don't
use Hal but I know there are Hal scripts for Winamp. However I don't
know what enhancements these scripts add to using Winamp. Also if your
friend buys Winamp Pro he'll be able to rip CDs using Winamp at whatever
speed his CD or DVD ROM drive supports. I hope this helps.

Regards Steve.

So any suggestions? Is MP3 Tag a good one to go for, for example?

1) Why do you want spend money for older technology such as Zoom H2?
2) If you care about functionality, why not to go for Zoom H4N, then.

total recorder problem

2010-11-15 Thread Bud Schwab

Hi Gang,

I haven't used Total Recorder for a long time and am now trying to
put some cassettes on the hard drive. I turn off window eyes so it
won't record the speech and then press spacebar to start recording.
Then I press spacebar again to stop recording before turning
windoweyes back on. Then I find that it is still recording. Are
there some special hot keys I can use that might be more
reliable? It seems like it used to work every time in the past when
I did it that way.

Thanks so much for any info.

I've never used spacebar, try control-r?

You may also wish to check how the keyboard shortcuts are defined or perhaps
you may wish to customise these particularly the Global Hotkeys which may
make your life even easier.

I must say though that I'm surprised people don't get an extra sound card or
device when recording from cassette or whatever, they're dirt cheap these days
and you don't have to pay a lot of money for something of reasonable quality
these days, an Imic is a great example of this smile.

Okay upon reading this message again I'm even more puzzled and I ask the
question, why do you need to stop Window-Eyes running, I assume you're
recording from the line in or similar from your audio device is that correct?
That being the case then if you have Total Recorder set so that it records from
the line in then running Window-Eyes won't have any affect on your recording
whatever.
