Clear kote makes a really good cd cleaning product called Disk Restorer. . I have heard of a product called CD Dr. I have used both Armerall and tooth paste. I think cleaning a cd really good with dawn is a really good solution. I have used the clear kote disk restorer on CDs that wouldn't even boot up and it worked great restoring the Boot table of the cd. If I fix a cd I make a coppy of the cd to back it up. I would say that Tooth paste is the most unlikely method of cleaning a cd. Armerall works but who knows how much dust you will trap on the cd at a later time. But I love the clear kote. If you can't find a cleaning product at your local record store Give this product a try. Re: Crackling sound in Win/7
Hi Morey, If Acer provide an audio driver for your computer for win7, then I would suggest trying these. Unfortunately, Acer's website isn't very accessible, but if you tell me the model number of your computer, the country where it was purchased, and whether you're using the 32bit or 64bit version of win7 I can have a look to see if it's available, David. original message: Hello all, Have a Acer Computer with 2g memory and a 500gg hard drive, and it came with Win Vista. The sound card was a on board one with Real Tech drivers. I did a fresh install of Win/7 and updated to the newest bill of Jaws 12. The audio drivers which were installed were downloaded form microsoft for the audio drivers. Now I have a whole bunch of crackling in speakers even when using certain keys on keyboard. Using microphone also causes crackling, but music such as MP3 has no problems except when pressing keys to get to it.I went to the system files and tried updating the audio drivers, but came back with message that proper drivers were installed. If this is a sound card or driver issue, any thoughts? Or, what may be a por what may be a proper new sound card for my problem?? Thanks, Morey Worthington To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
