problem with soundforge seven
Hi list, i am using soundforge seven. i put it in to my computer last july. now, it keeps coming up with properties, and asking me to register it if i want to use some plug-in or other. when i try to register it, even with sighted help, it says can't contact server. it also offers the choice to register on line. this service is no longer available. also, is anyone using later versions. i see that there are two different versions of soundforge ten. is anyone using any of these. i am only interested in making audio files. any help would be appreciated. brian. Re: problem with soundforge seven
Hi! Sound Forge 7? I'm not surprised that the registration page isn't available for it any longer, I've no idea how old Sound Forge 7 is but I'm guessing at least 6 years. Yes, there are 2 different versions of Sound Forge 10 as there are 2 different versions of Sound Forge 7, one is the Audio Studio version, formally known as XP and one is the Pro version I think its called. Audio studio has most of the features one would want for editing but as I've written on list before I certainly wouldn't be recommending Sound Forge for audio editing these days given that Goldwave and Total Recorder are - for most audio editing and recording tasks - such very good and accessible alternatives, not to mention the very obvious fact that you get far more value for your buck when purchasing these alternatives. recovering title and track info
Hello, I've been going 'round in circles with recovering title and track information from cds for which I have no notes. COULDEX fails in part because its database is not complete. I'm not sure why Mapler fails, but my guess is that its database can only be accessed one time if I didn't buy Mapler. All I need is a program dedicated to this one purpose. I don't to extract tracks. It doesn't have to supply hot and cold water. All it has to do is to permit me to obtain, copy and paste track info into my Jukebox database. I would very much appreciate any suggestions any of you may have. Joe G. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Joe: Have you tried the auto tagger that is found in Winamp? That usually works pretty good (it's not perfect) it gets it wrong every once in a while! But for the most part, it does fairly well! Re: recovering title and track info
No, Tom, I have not. I can try Winamp again, but I found that that program interfered with the proper operation of my computer so I deleted it. I have three French cds which Mapler found, so they are known somewhere. Let's hope Winamp gets it right. Meanwhile, if anyone has other possibilities, please let me know. Thanks, Tom, for your help. track tagging programs
You might look at Audio Tags Editor o Audio Grabber. Google for web sites. Audio Grabber does more than you want, but it is free and I believe it's accessible. I don't know about the accessibility of Audio Tags Editor. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: track tagging programs
Thanks for your note. I looked at Audiograbber and my antivirus program tells me that there's wrong with that site. I could have told the firewall to let it run, but was reluctant to do that. I can't pretend to be super great with these programs but it appears that the Audio Tag Editor isn't accessible. I don't a way to look at menus. Usually the alt key will show me the basic menus, but pressing that button shows nothing. It seemed hopeful in that, before inserting a disk, I saw the blank form for track, title and more. Once the disk was inserted, all that disappeared. I saw a list of folders which I guess I was to select but alas! I couldn't do it. I've spent lots of time with dead ends but I guess I'm learning something in the process. I have yet to install Winamp and see how that works. I use a simple little program called Trans Record CD Info. It uses the Gracenote CDDB. Goldwave is a great programme, but Soundforge at least used to be more powerful and versatile. I still have it on my computer and will pull it up from time to time, but it's true that it isn't as accessible as it could be... - Original Message - From: Dane Trethowan grtd...@internode.on.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Friday, March 25, 2011 10:24 AM Subject: Re: problem with soundforge seven Hi! Re: recovering cd track informationRe: recovering cd track information
Hello, Tom and list, I have the program and it looks to be just what I want. The problem is that I cannot register with Gracenote. As I see it, it's done in the settings options. I see the first screen but when I tell the program to go to the next screen, there's nothing there. I can't tab or get info with the arrows nor can I press enter. Is there another way to register? I couldn't find it. I hope this can be resolved because this is just what I need. Thank you for your help. Total recorder registration?
Listers, I have put Total Recorder on my office computer. Does any body know do I have to buy another key to put Total Recorder on my Notebook PC? If I have too I will. But it would be nice if one key would be able to work with two computers. By the way, I'm running Total Recorder standard. Re: Total recorder registration?
Yep, under the licence conditions its supposed to be one key per computer, your Total Recorder key will work on your second computer in the meantime.
