Ken, You are wrong, I've closed and saved loads of files, then opened them and by moving to the record button, have added to them often and resaved no problems. there is a setting, I cannot remember where, which is a checkbox and says append to file, mine is checked. You have not answered my initial question though. Greetings, For a start, I would turn the settings window off, it's a nuisance coming up whenever you start a recording. You can know a recording is in progress by the elapsed time command, i.e alt-shift-e. In most cases its the microphone. Which means you will have to tweek to get the volume you need.
