No reason why you can't use Reaper to do that, import the files you wish to use
into your
project and work on them that way, again familiarise yourself with the software
so you know how
things are laid out etc.

What are you wanting to do?

As you can see Reaper is a very powerful program and has many options so if I
 started trying
 to
explain things without knowing what it was that you really wanted to do then
 we'd be here all
 night.

You might for example try with what I suggested, the Insert Media File
 option I think it is.

Reaper is a flexible and innovative piece of audio production software thus
 the way you use
 MP3
files - should you need them - in your audio production project or setting
 is entirely your
call, if you look around the menu interface, toolbars, windows etc you'll
 find tools for the
 job.

I suggest a good few minutes with the manual as well to familiarise yourself
 with what Reaper
 has to offer.

Reaper will handle MP3 files without a problem.

I'm not sure how you go about opening MP3 files in Reaper as I've not used
 the software for
 that
sort of thing, my guess is that you import them into your project as
 required.

Naturally you can save out as a MP3 if required though this isn't the
 default, remember
 we're
talking Audio Production software here smile.

Jambox messages

2012-01-18 Thread Donald L. Roberts
I am hopeful that someone on list can provide me with a list of all
Jambox audible messages. Thus far, I have heard two. Specifically,
battery almost full, and in pairing mode. Are there others? If so,
what are they?

Thanks.

files in to very small files, the actual windows media
player version is 118 mb for example but easy cd ripper is
only giving me 5 or 6 mb in total. It is version 15.

I don't know Roxio since about version 6. As I recal,
 back then, when
you select the rip function, you have several controls
 that you can
tab through before starting the rip.
One of those controls was for the format and quality,
 i.e.
.wma at various bit rates, .wav, or .mp3 at various bit
 rates.See if
you can find such a control. Also check in the menus
for
 option
settings and see if there is such a menu.

To check and see what bit rate the track was ripped at,
 highlight the
ripped track, right click on it and up arrow once to
 Properties.
Control tab to the Summary tab and tab or arrow down
 through the
various options until you find the bit rate. In the
 Summary tab
you'll wat to make sure that the Advanced option is
 checked/activated.

If you can describe the process you go through as you
rip
 a disk, it
might help us to figure out where in the process
 selection
 of the rip
 format and quality is located.

 Good luck.

At what bit rate are the files being ripped? My guess
 is
 the default
for the program is a low bit rate rather than
 a
higher bit rate resulting in a smaller file, but lower
 quality.
