I have an audio drama here that I am trying to listen to. With my plextalk pocket. The file is 128 kbps and 44100 hz. If I transfer the files to the pocket only the first 6 minutes of the file plays. The other interesting thing is that the files play normally with windows media player and MaPler but also foobar 2000 will only also play the first 6 minutes. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this issue? Oh yes - I did check, the complete files transferred to the plextalk pocket. The pocket also tells me that the file is 6 minutes long while it is actually 54 minutes in length. Best and affordable recorder for mono voices
Hi listers, I'am Mario from Italy, a broadcaster that needs to record dry and mono voices while outside of the studio. I've listened to the neil podcasts on Blind Cool Tech, but In these podcast he often records fx and stereo sources, and I notice that the voice is a little bit noisy. Can you suggest me a good portable recorder to record only my voice in mono? Im thinking to buy an h2n, but is the mono mix feature useful for what I want to do? and if one exists, can you suggest a microphone that is valid for that use? Finding Unsaved GoldWave Files
Hi everyone. Would be really grateful if someone can please help me. I've just finished recording an extremely long file, including content to which I now have no access. After I stopped the recording my laptop crashed and I had to turn it off, but I'm running the autosave option so presume that the document should have saved somewhere. However, my laptop doesn't seem to have a Temporary Files folder like my old machine, and I can't work out where GoldWave would automatically save unsaved files to. I've found one file called .gvoice, but this file doesn't show up in GoldWave so I presume that it's not the right one, and when I try to open it in My Computer it says that I need to pick a programme to open it with but doesn't suggest GoldWave as an option. I really would like to get this file back if possible, so any help will be much appreciated. OK, apologies for the confusion but I've just found out that autosave only works with bounded selections and mine are unbounded. However, I know that on my old computer it used to save the files as .tmp files when I stopped recording. Is this still possible with more recent versions of GoldWave and, if so, how can I please make sure that this happens so that I can access files after a necessary shutdown? Hey Everyone, I'm just writing to let you know that Andrew Hart has written some real cool Jaws for Windows scripts for the Foobar audio player. Foobar is my audio player of choice and you can get more information about Foobar from: http://www.foobar2000.org For those of you who use Winamp and enjoy the functionality of the Winamp JFW scripts, Andrew has implemented some of that functionality into his first version of the JFW Foobar scripts among other things. However, I know that on my old computer it used to save the files as .tmp files when I stopped recording. FW: More about the JFW Foobar scripts from Andrew Hart.
-Original Message- Sent: Sunday, 15 April 2012 4:07 AM Hi folks, For those folks out there who use Foobar 2000 for listening to their movies/tv/radio audio, I've written some JAWS scripts for this media player that you may find useful. Among other things, they provide the ability to set multiple time markers for an audio track you are playing, as well as commands for having JAWS speak the elapsed, remaining and total time of an audio track. Essentially, they provide Foobar 2000 with some of the functionality available in the JAWS scripts for Winamp. The scripts are for JAWS versions 12 and 13, but should also be compatible with JAWS 11 and earlier versions at least as far back as 9. However, I can't make any promises as I have only tested them on JAWS 12 and 13. The scripts can be downloaded from http://www.jfwscripts.cjb.net For any Winap users checking out the scripts, please note that while many of the JAWS commands are the same as in Winamp, there are some minor differences in order to accomodate the Foobar UI. Cheers and enjoy, Andrew. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: Finding Unsaved GoldWave Files
Hi Brett. Small world! Thanks for the idea - I've already tried looking for both .tmp and GWV (which I think is how all untitled files begin) using the search facility but nothing's shown up. This is quite a new laptop to me - is it possible that a setting is in place to not show temporary files and, if so, do you please possibly know how I might change it? One instance is you don't need to use the audio repeater if you wanted to record directly from the vac cable. E.G. You set audio player to output to vac cable, then in say total recorder you can choose to record from the vac cable . As mentioned, it's not rocket science. The limit on how to use this thing is your imagination. Also, the stuttering does not happen if you set it up properly like adjusting buffers etc. There is a userguide on how to do all this believe it or not.
