Re: Goldwave Question
Steve, I suggested way back it might be a glitch in GW, so maybe write to Chris the author at: chris2...@goldwave.com I would be interested in his response, but be assured he would expect the user to have explored help, the manual Etc. first, so check these then contact him with any necessary evidence. Re: How to do a partial fade in Sound Forge
Imagine if you will, a line in the air, going from left to right. The line represents the level of the entire file. Now, a few seconds into the file, or a few steps along the line if you will, there's a ramp downward. It's a gentle slope, takes a step or two to get down that ramp, and in terms of time, it lasts maybe a second, maybe two. But the ramp doesn't go all the way down to the floor--the audio level doesn't go all the way to 0vU. Just down a little bit. But the rest of the audio stays at that level until the end of the file. It's as if you turned down the level to talk over it and never turned it back up again. I hope this clearsup my previous explanation. Re: How to do a partial fade in Sound Forge
Hi Steve, I'm not quite sure whether I fully understand your question but as far as I can guess you want the audio to be at lesser volume from a particular time setting and its duration is supposed to take the rest of the track you're editing is that right? If so have you tried out menu -> Process -> arrow up to Volume and here cut 50% and you can as well move to the edit field in that dialogue setting exactly the decibell range of the volume you want. I'm sorry if you've tried that as this seems being too easy to you as you appear to edit audios quite often:). Winamp is not involved. Tell us more about your setup. Did you, for instance, tell Studio what sound device to use in the Output page of the Options dialog which isn't really a dialog? Re: Goldwave Question
It's definitely a Gold Wave bug. The fact is, when you choose a format for recording, that format should automatically be the default when you save it. In fact, it shouldn't even be required to ask you for it, for if you wanted the recording saved in something else, you would have made it in that something else format in the first place. Gold Wave should be apprised of this situation and they should remove that nonsense from the save dialog. Why would anyone record something in one format and then save it in another? If you want it saved in another format, convert it on your own, I say. Seems like an oversite. An annoying one, but an oversite nonetheless.
