Spotify radio player to hook up to home stereo receiver

2012-12-19 Thread Dujari, Prateek
Hello.

Are there any hardware players that can play my choice of Spotify radio channel
and can connected via stereo RCA to home stereo receivers? Pl note I do not
want a Spotify enabled boom box with its own speakers, instead as my question
states, a player enabled wit Spotify that can be connected to a home stereo
receiver via stereo RCA jacks.

thx

Olympus LS-100 Recorder

2012-12-19 Thread Rich De Steno
There has been some discussion on this list about the Olympus LS-100
multi-track recorder with spoken menus. I know it has had some firmware
upgrades since its release, but an old review by a user on the Musicians
Friend web site has some serious criticisms of the unit. The two that
If ound most problematic are quoted below. Are these still problems? I
am considering buying the recorder and would like some feedback.

No way to pause playback. You need to think about this...imagine an
analog reel to reel tape recorder, now imagine that every time you press
"stop" when the machine is playing or recording, the transport instantly
rewinds to the beginning of the tape...that's what happens with the
LS-100! So, let's say you are trying to come up with a part for the 2nd
chorus of a song...say 1:50 seconds into a song (like I was), when you
are done and want to hear it, you only option is to press STOP (it
instantly stops and resets to zero) then press PLAY, then hold down the
Fast Forward key to advance to 1:45 seconds...and that's just to hear it
once. If you don't like what you hear, you press "STOP". "RECORD" to arm
the track, "PLAY", "FF" to advance to the 2nd chorus, "RECORD" to begin
recording again, and then "STOP" and repeat the 1st process to hear it,
every time having to press "PLAY" and then holding down the FF key for
10 seconds or so to advance to 1:45 on your song. It becomes very
tedious to say the least. You can't pause record either but I'm not sure
why you would want to (at least in MTR mode).

You can't alter, add to, or partially erase tracks in any way once
they've been recorded. You either accept them or erase them entirely.

Re: the tiny tunes player

2012-12-19 Thread Chris H
Glad you agree with me and although I won't take up on any of your Mp3
players, judging by the Tech Talk presentation you did months ago they
all sound good and you certainly help those who just need a basic Mp3
player that talks. No gimmiks, no middle men, no unrealistic claims,
brilliant job and keep up the good work.

they claim 70 hours of battery life! i think most of us know that
this is a wild exaggeration to say the least. they also still claim
that it's the only MP3 player which you don't have to look at the
screen to use, it's the first MP3 player that talks, etc.

I feel sorry for all of those who fell for this con job. All I can
say is that I tried to shed some light on it months ago. I'm not even
going to try to promote my own Talking MP3 Players in this message,
just that i feel very sorry for those who got ripped off.

Happy holidays everyone!

Oh what a con this sounds like! I really hate it when companies do this,
market a product that's claimed to be the first of its kind, only to be
let down by stupid gimmiks and worst of all no way to get a refund. How
disgusting! Think I will stick with my iPhone and Pc/Mac for playing music.
